Just wanted to add

I bought Nordic version(scanbox) of Apocalypto on BD, and its a screwup.

50i encode = 4% speedup.

So no more purchases from them.

Good movies are as rare as an on topic discussion.

No, but the opposite has happened, the first pressing(s) of Buena Vista's Apoaclypto were region free, the new batches are locked to region A.

Might help explain Warner region locking Rambo for example...

Lionsgate didn't lock it but Sony claimed they had to. Kind of a raw deal for Sony and Warner if they were contractually obligated while Lionsgate sells a disc that works worldwide, has complete extras, and is far cheaper for anyone to buy/import. I wonder if that's why Warner offered an exclusive Steelbook, to try to entice Germans not to just get the US disc.

What doesn't make sense in this scenario is BDs being region coded by studios that previously released the same movies on HD DVD.

It shouldn't be necessary if what I read in the patent about time-limited region coding is actually implemented.

They expect us to have forgotten that HD DVD had no region coding. Mind you, New Line refused to release on HD DVD largely due to the lack of region coding (so they say).

The chances of that time limited region coding actually being used is pretty small IMHO. I am pretty much resigned to hoping that those clever Scandinavians work out a region code fix for one of the players I will eventually buy...

Looking for the UNRATED Edition, I have heard there is an Australian verison, granted its only about 50 seconds longer than the US Verison ,it just has more violence. Does anybody know where I can get this verison. Also is the German verison the same aswell.

Cheers

Australian and German versions are both the unrated, but the German release only has lossy English audio. There's also a French disc with English PCM but I haven't been able to find any info on which cut it is (should be unrated).

http://www.blurayreviews.ch/

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment have announced 14 titles for October release that includes Casino Royale - Deluxe Edition. The act of short span double dipping on Blu-ray by Studios should be banned with immediate effect.

Blu-ray : 340

Your out of your mind, the new film was far better than Temple of Doom, peoples expectations for this film where just way out of wack with what the whole serise was and is about. It's a Satuday afternoon pulp-fiction series, and taken as that it works great. They all work an extent but will neve match Raiders, and to the guy that compared the new film to Cop III, you should never be allowed in a theater again.

I agree! and prefer it over LAST CRUSADE too, minus Sean Connery!

You can get the gist of the Copland Blu-ray reviews using Google Translate and Babelfish. They say it's no better or even worse than upscaled DVD.

http://www.releaselists.com/BLURAYInternational.html lists a Netherlands release of Prison Break - Season 2 on September 3, 2008. Does anyone have another source for this?

Mediadis shows that the Dutch S1 BD was released by Fox. Why would they release S2 over there and skip it here...

EDIT: Wow, it also lists "Within Temptation-Black Symphony: Live Concert (Region B?) (Netherlands release)" for September 22. There's one I'll have to remember to check out.

Speaking of which, Paramount needs to get to work on that. Get a new commentary with Matthew Broderick, Alan Ruck, and Mia Sara.
