went to tar-jay at 11am, hoping that the "door buster" rush was over (bad hope there, it was a zoo)...

anyway, got gwtw, they had 3 copies left... already had woo, but noticed that those were all gone... most of everything that was on sale cheap was gone...

I'm tempted but the review on Amazon is pretty bad.

It always amazes me how much Buy.com FAILS at life. Deal lame after shipping and tax.

I rarely buy from buy.com but at $13 per film after shipping and tax it's not that bad a deal. Of course if the Blade series does nothing for you it's not a deal at all.

Any good deals on the Hero blu-ray? On Amazon the price is still close to $30. The price actually went UP $1 from yesterday! With all these deals for $10 and under catalog titles I just can't bring myself to pay that much.

I guess I've been really spoiled by GoHasting at $8.50 a pop. Also, I don't know the quality of these movies. I don't go with any blu ray if it's not rated at least 4 stars in the video area. It would be a waste to get it in blu ray IMO.

Edit: That and I'm affraid to see how much I've spent so far too.

My turn to contribute...

Already posted in this thread is Amazon's current sale for "Supernatural Season 4" on Blu for $25.99, but I noticed that Season 3 is on sale for the same price. (I did perform a search in this thread to make sure nobody had already mentioned this.)

I know this is the wrong place to ask this, but when did the Blade Trilogy get released. I have not heard anything about it. Is this a different master than the version available in Canada that is the wrong aspect ratio?

Got The 400 Blows for $12.99 before amazon raises the price or Criterion loses the rights to it (whichever comes first! ). Will be the first BD my father will play in the new $80 Blu-ray player his wife just bought at, of all places, Home Depot. I am losing so much money on all the things I'm saving money on it's getting ridiculous!

I think it's the Canadian release. Blade isn't OAR if that's the case.

Went to three Targets today -

0 = Wizard of Oz

Man, I really wanted that.

I did get GWTW though.

Also Amazon traded me 10 movies for about $100 today.

Got to Target this morning around 6ish, and I ended up getting the last copy of WOO, one of the last of GWTW, Speed Racer, Gremlins, and Get smart for $13 each. Took me almost an hour of waiting in line to get them though. Managed to sneak over to Best Buy around 8 and get Monsters vs Aliens for $10. Ordered the X-men trilogy the very second it popped up as a lightning deal. Can't wait to watch that this week.

Man, my wallet is hurting.

Stopped by the Target in Broomfield, CO around 5pm tonight. They had a couple of "Black Friday sale" racks of Blu-rays. These were pretty well stocked, and there were about a dozen copies of Gone With the Wind. No Wizard of Oz available on those racks, though. I scanned through the regular Blu-ray racks, and found two copies of WOO mis-filed behind some other titles; there were also lots more copies of GWTW there. So - if these seem to be sold out on the "sale racks", it might be worth a few minutes to browse through the regular inventory. Might get lucky!

dad, you pushed me over the edge. Bought The 400 Blows, Wings of Desire and Gladiator today.
Stopped by Target this afternoon and found both Oz and GWTW.
Used the 2 gift cards I had from buying a couple of The Beatles Remasters cds.
How's that for variety?

I had ordered the Gladiator Bluray last night but after reading all the bad reviews on here, I decided to cancel.

I also picked up the first 3 fast and furious blurays for $5.75 shipped each from wally world. Then, 13 other blurays from amazon.

The wife is gonna be soo pissed.

The Mist: $10.49
Michael Clayton: $7.99
Baraka: $14.99
The Silence of the Lambs: $7.99
Drag Me to Hell: $11.99

Ok, I gotta stop.

Might get some, but obviously not doorbusters.

Still some good deals on amazon.

Gohastings still has 30% off used titles. I got like 8-10 titles in the mail from the "buy 2 get 1 for $1" sale and all but 1 came in original cases, and no scratches on any. 2 did have rental stickers in the middle of the disc though, and 2 had residue from where a sticker used to be. But for about $8 a movie it's tough to complain.

OT: What are people using to get the sticker residue off the discs? PM me please if you know something I can use.

Not sure if this has posted, but local block busters have black friday sales too. I saw new Blu-rays that were on sale for $9.99. But YMMV, because I went to two stores today. Both had black friday sales advertised on their door, but only one of the stores had new Blu-rays for $9.99. Picked up Live Free and Die Hard, Push, and We own the night for $30. I know there may be a few places that you can get it for a few dollars cheaper, but the good thing is that there are no lines to wait in or crowds to fight through.

It's not blu, but Target has Monk Season 7 for $12.99. It's at least $40 about every where I checked. I have 3 family members wanting them for Christmas and each one I went to had one copy left between noon and 1PM today (the last store I was at I heard a lady tell her husband she's getting Monk LOL). Some stores do show it in stock.

I found it that door buster Blus like MvA, Wolverine and others were plentiful just before noon @ BB today. I picked up a PS3 slim with Ratchet & LBP just after noon when it had been sold out online @ BB. The 'noisy' 60GB will be going up on Craigslist.

The key to good deals is knowing when to use coupons. I've purchased several blu rays over the last 6 weeks or so from Target (including Up and Monsters, Inc), because they were cheaper than anywhere else.
