Thanks. Well that takes care of that issue.

No. Its cheaper for Paramount to just send discs and stickers to retailers then have them ship everything back.

I was looking for just the Blu-Ray movie but all they had was the DVD version and this "MASK sooper dooper version" on blu-ray. I just wanted the plain ole case... but I picked it up regardless as it is getting played loudly tonight.

Thanks for checking! Bet we see a separate thread soon with people asking about the audio though!

But with prime shipping it ends up costing me less than 40 cents for each package to get 2 day shipping. I get 200 to 300 packages a year from Amazon, and the Prime service is well worth it.

This morning I walked down to a local B&M store called Fred Meyer. They only had about 8 copies of Iron Man on Blu Ray. Since the electronics manager was the only person working that department I asked him about the recall? They got 2 cases of the Blu Ray version but those got sent back. Late yesterday they got 10 in direct from Paramount. More are "supposed" to be in today. So stock is definitely limited for some retailers. Its a good thing I decided to walk over at 8am in the morning. They already sold 2 and I was buying the 3rd.

Case in point for those buying locally it might be smart to make picking up Iron Man your 1st priority today instead of your last. It might not be a problem but then it could be in some areas and stores.

The price was not that competitive but at least I got a free Iron Man T-Shirt in the deal. A pretty cool shirt as well!!

Picked mine up at BB this morning.. Its the new version with the grey and blue discs as mentioned above.. Got a Repulsor magnet, lithograph and some long grey cylinder thing that extends..Thought it was a poster inside but it was empty. It was sealed so it wasn't tampered.. Does anyone know what that is?

I think your case is hardly normal (one package every other day). If you buy so much from Amazon, you should get Prime for free, seriously.

For rest of us, 20 packages/year may be too much

Like I mentioned earlier, it is IMHO and YMMV.

I now buy new releases of BD from local B&M stores. No more Amazon.

No problems in the metro Atl area (other than finding FUEL ), each of the 2 Best Buys on my drive home from work were both loaded with 'em, all with the new UPC...funny thing was, my buddy working (who usually stays on top of this stuff like a motha) knew nothing about the initial faulty disc/batch thing, was surprised when I explained it to him, heh.

Anyway, you know Paramount scrambled to get this done by street date - kudos to them. I grabbed a copy along with Forgetting Sarah Marshall and for good measure, the one copy of Dawn of the Dead they received in, not a bad haul!!!

The disc plays perfectly as expected (BD30 FW2.4 + Onkyo 605), however, the TrueHD track does indeed trip the 605 L.Nite feature from OFF to Auto (sadly, also expected) which of course tones down the volume/dynamics, definitely have to hit that button once to kick it back to off. For a goof, I checked the audio for chapter 11, (friggin' reference spot), zero problems. Man, if you've got a properly calibrated setup, this sh!t rocks!!!!

My Setup | Night

Latest Blu-Rays Bought: Halloween 35th, This is The End, The Conjuring, The World's End, You're Next, Thor 2, Gravity, Noah, Cpt. America Winter Soldier, Godzilla, Big Bang Season 7, Texas Chainsaw 40th, Edge of Tomorrow

Case in point for me as well, I walked into the store at around 9:35-9:40 this morning (store opened at 9:30). Walked in, saw the Iron Man Steelbook sitting on the customer service counter, and grabbed one. There were about 5 left when I grabbed one, looks like they had about 12 to begin with. When I went to the cashier, there were 2 guys in front of me buying the steelbook as well and 2 guys behind me.

I also have another steelbook coming in the mail (will get to my house ~next Monday) and have an in-store pickup order (will probably pickup Thursday) for one as well. PM me if interested in buying.

On another note, I noticed on mine (which is the fixed version), that one of the clips that secures the case was broken off. I wonder if when they were all shipped back, that a group of people were just cutting the defective boxes open, swapping out the disc and slapping a new sticker on it?

If a normal case came with it I would have bought it a minute ago, plus it was $2 more than elsewhere...I'll wait on my rental for now. This is why I never pre-order.

I bought the Target version also. The plastic mask really isn't cheap and looks very cool. The real "problem" with the packaging is that the outer clear plastic box has the paper artwork and there is none on the mask. It would have been nice if they had incorporated the artwork and info on the back of the mask.

Anyway, it's unique and just a couple bucks more, so I went for it.

Just trying to decide whether to display the mask on it's own.....

There's an easy way to tell if you have the old or new disc. if you have the old one both the feature film disc and the second disc are gray. If you have the new one the special features disc is gray and the feature film disc is a bluish color.

I hope that's not the case in Canada. I just bought it at Future Shop this morning (Steelbook) and both discs are grey.

EDIT: My bad. Man do I have a poor memory. I just checked the discs and they have art work on them; so they are different from the US.
