How about this HMV UK exclusive packaging:

I can't find the actual product's page though and it doesn't make it clear whether the Blu-ray is getting it too.

That case is an abomination. Reminds me of those cheap and faulty "limited edition" cases that the Simpsons boxsets had.

Yeah, I'm one of those people that paid the shipping charges to get replacement packaging for my sixth season set.

Future Shop stores up here in Canada will be selling a steelbook edition of Iron Man ($35) for both dvd and Blu-ray. As for the above case. It's a neat idea but the packaging would be awkward on my ever limiting shelf space., and the plastic looks super breakable/cheap.

I'm sure the mix will sound great but i don't think it's going to have as active surrounds as lets say, TRANSFORMERS. I know, I used IRON MAN and TRANSFORMERS in the same sentence. Shudder, lol.

Paul, I am sure you will be one of the first ones to get a copy as usual of Iron Man so please share as soon as you get it in a few weeks or so. I am looking forward to Transformers to blow up my house in a couple weeks.

I saw it at a decent digital cinema too. And you're about right on with the sound, not a lot of ping pow zaps flying from side to side. Except for the opening AK fire, that woke me up. Other than that nothing jaw dropping(well the sonic boom was pretty cool). And I know for damn sure this one should have grain.

The suit assembly uses the same animations and sounds as the Transformer transformations.

Just kidding but I told Ralph not to plan any vacation for September or October.

I want this bad and hopefully I'll get my preorder early. No problems with the audio at my theater as far as I was concerned.

first review 4.5/5 PQ/AQ

Extras look like they're worth the price alone. I'm still not sold on the audio on this being above and beyond. But I can't wait to find out for myself.
Very curious as to how Ralph will score it - Most accurate AQ assessments out of everyone(PQ too, but audio is where all the fun is).

Cheers,

When I see posts like this, I become very envious. Of course, then I remember that you also have to sit through things like "The Love Guru," so I guess it all evens out.

I can almost guarantee you won't regret it.Most fun I've had at a movie this year besides Dark Knight,in fact on some levels I enjoyed it more.

Too many systems and games....not enough time or money!

+1

Most reviewers focus the majority of their time assessing the PQ of a film and spend very little time on the AQ. Ralph, however, spends an equal amount of time on AQ as PQ and is very thorough in his assessment. I tend to agree with his reviews thus far and have had similar experiences with the movies he's reviewed.

Pretty much what my friends have indicated as well. RD Jr. is always great to watch as well and Tropic Thunder just re-inforced that

Yes,it's just a well written story, excellent pacing, and a great cast of actors. The movie doesn't take itself too seriously, but it was obviously made with great care and attention.RD jr made the role his own on the first try, just as Christian Bale and Chris Reeve did before him.I'd put it at Spiderman 2/ Xmen 2 level as far as quality goes.

This is the most anticipated blu ray release for me outta the whole year. I love this movie. Dark Knight was awesome, but this one is much more "fun" and lends itself much better to repeat viewings.

Not that I won't be picking up Dark Knight on blu
