Finally!!! After reading nothing but rave reviews on the PQ of Mummy I finally got around to watching it last night and I sat there thinking "did everyone NOT see what I'm seeing"? There was lots of Edge Enhancement throughout, a few out of focus scenes, definate DNR. At one point even my wife (who never says anything about pq or aq) asked "why are some of the scenes blurry, its distracting"! Like I said, after all the hoopla over the pq I was begining to think my equipment surely must be malfunctioning but atlast I found this thread and am relieved to see I'm not the only one who saw all this. Don't get me wrong, the pq still looks pretty good (especially on close ups) but I was expected sooo much more. I really think alot of times it comes down to what size screen people are viewing on pq of movies. I'm watching on a 118 inch carada brilliant white screen and Sony black pearl projector. One concern I do have and I haven't seen anyone mention it here yet is that during the really dark scenes when they are in the tomb there appeared to be some sort of ghosting going on which I think may have to do with some settings I need to change or something? For example when somebody moved in the dark it almost looked like a faint outline of the person moving next to them in, Any tips. OR is there supposed to be some slight shadow effect? Also could somebody clarify that the scene where the guy gets his eyes taken out by MUMMY that the scene has alot of grain or something to that affect? The scene is really dark but dimly lit by the guys torch and the side walls that are lit by the torch appear to look wierd or have lots of grain. Just want to make sure its not my projector or something causing this.
