I already have the UK (non-corrected) disc, but I decided to roll the dice and order the US disc from amazon. Hope I get the "right one"

Thanx for the link.

Some of the differences seem to be important and some don't.
I guess I would have to watch the entire movie to judge whether my American copy should be replaced.

Why would you pay $15 for something you could get by shipping the defective UK disc back to Momentum Pictures for less than $5?

Ordered 2/12 from Amazon, received it today (not bad for the free shipping). Items were shipped from the Lexington, KY warehouse and it is the correct "English (Theatrical)" version

I gifted my original Magnet BD to a friend, and I will be keeping the UK edition for the commentary.

Returned it, re-ordered (at the lower price), and received the correct version yesterday!

Only bad part is someone might end up with the one that I sent back!

Well, I just ordered this and it shipped from amazon's Kentucky center, so I hope I receive a corrected version. If not, I will also return/exchange the copy. It should arrive tomorrow.

My copy did arrive from the Kentucky center, and it was the correct version. I am quite pleased.

Are the old pressings w/the inferior subtitles still in circulation? I just received a copy from B&N with what appears to be the subtitles from the early release (back cover reads: "Subtitles: English, Spanish", with no mention of theatrical subs.

Did I just get shafted, or am I missing something else (UPC code? mine reads 7696400179) that would confirm I've got the corrected version?

You should just order it from Amazon.co.uk Got mine 2 months ago for roughly $16 Cnd after shipping. Subtitles are the good kind, commentary and the DTS-HDMA track was fixed

Supporting both HD-DVD and Blu-ray

Thanks. I guess I'll go amazon.co.uk route (I probably end up ordering 25%+ of all my discs from there anyway), and would ordinarily have done it to begin with, were it not for the deal B&N is/was running on a number of titles, including LTROI

The earlier pressing had a mastering error resulting in only a 768kbps DTS track being played.

But it did (I don't know if it still does) have an embossed slipcover to ease your pain.

I have the first issue of this US disc (got it day of release) finally I settle down to watch it and this thread rings a bell.
I selected Swedish audio and English subtitles.
The audio is playing as a proper DTS-HD MA track and the subs are fine.
Were people selecting the descriptive subtitles by mistake?

Do you have the UK version? There was never a problem with those subtitles. It was only the US version.

There's nothing technically wrong with the subtitles, it's just a rubbish translation (see the link to the comparison a few posts up.)

Can anyone tell me what the overall best Blu-ray release of this movie now is? I am tempted to get the relatively recent UK release with the "new" cover shown in the post above but I am also wondering if it is region 2 locked......

The back of the case says region B: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/customer-media/product-gallery/B002BMZZM8/ref=cm_ciu_pdp_images_0?ie=UTF8&index=0&isremote=0

Don't tell me that you of all people don't have a region free player yet wink.gif

No, I do have a region free BR player in my living room but not one in the bedroom. Thus, if say both a R1 and R2 release are basically the same quality, I'd go with the R1 release purely out of convenience.
