Not available in my neck of the woods yet. It'll be another week and a half before most people can get their hands on this.

This is the best movie I saw in 2008. A blind buy for me (especially since it's not from Warner ). I can't get over the cinematography and the cold backdrop. And incredible acting.

Good movies are as rare as an on topic discussion.

It's against forum rules to discuss breaking of street dates and which stores maybe breaking street dates. If you happen to get the movie early and want to post reviews and discussion...great. But, we are not allowed to ask or discuss which store/etailer it's coming from

I can't wait to hear how this comes up in high-def.

This is without question the best film of last year.

Could you also check if it's region free (the swedish edition)?

Sure, and of course if the english subtitles are in the active 2.35:1 area.

DVD Beaver has a pretty substantial review up;

Looks to be a 'killer'.

This was an amazing movie. It was also an amazing book that I suggest anyone who likes the movie read.

Looks like a solid disc. The film itself was never going to be one to use as a demo. But I'm glad that they've kept the real film look of it and it's not DNR-ed to death.

MovieSwede, what are the audio options on the swedish release? Discshop's listing is pretty vague, only says DD 5.1. Surely there's some kind of lossless option?

They have images of the back now, and its only Dolby digital 5.1 and one 2.0 blindtrack and a 2.0 commentary track.

Intresting that it was a Warner logo on the back. Maybe they own Sandrews?

While its disapointing that they didnt include lossless, I guess im happy that i still have nightmode option on this one.

EDIT
If you havnt seen the movie DONT look at dvdbeavers screencaps.

Thanks for the prompt reply! Just as well I guess, I was unsuccessful in finding a swedish webshop that ships to its euro brethren without requiring their first-born child. So much for trying to support the euro market, I'll just import the US release with the uglier cover and English title. I've not looked at the Beaver review but have seen the film, I can imagine the damage. Only ever beaver after the movie.

The US edition at least has lossless. And I guess you dont have any need for a swedish commentary track anyway.

The cover can always be replaced.

For the life of me, I can't find the "button" to do it either, but if you just type it in by hand by typing the words "spoiler" and "/spoiler" inside of the square brackets [] at each end of your text string, you get this:

(If you quote this post, you'll see the raw format. That's how I stole it to begin with - from someone else post.)

So you have the swedish version and have confirmed it's only got standard Dolby Digital?

Thanks.

Could you let us know if the subtitles are in the image or do they show up in the letterboxing too?
