Just a little info on selecting the 5.1 surround...on my older Denon blu-ray it would hang up when I selected the 5.1 in the audio selection menu. To get around this I had to start the disc without selecting the audio (so it defaults to stereo) then once the disc started I went into pop-up menu mode. The selection of 5.1 then worked. I did notice the first track seems base shy but it gets better soon and the sound is great. My favorite concert video.

The HD-DVD of this concert is 1080p, so it's kind of strange that the blu-ray is 1080i?

A long-time audio/video addict!

According to the HD DVD demuxer eac3to, the video is VC-1 1080i60. But isn't that as good as 1080p24? Cinemasquid specs show the BD at AVC 1080i30 (or 29.94 fps to be exact).

The audio on the concert disc is fantastic, each instrument is crystal clear with some nice bass. My only complaint is that it's only 8 songs, I wonder why it's so short? Documentary is set for tonight with a few cocktails.

I have noticed, there are 2 (+1) different tracks on the "Farewell Tour - Live from Melbourne" bluray

1. LPCM : 2.0 / 48 KHz / 2300 Kbps / 24 bit

2. DTS-HD Master audio : 5.1 / 48 KHz / 5300 Kbps / 24 bit

    DTS-Core : 5.1 / 48 KHz/ 1500 Kbps / 24 bit (as secondary track)

Take care to disable "secondary track" settings of your bluray player if you want to ear DTS-HD MA track.
Hope this help !!
