"Warner Home Video has announced that it will release 'Terminator Salvation' on Blu-ray on December 1, day-and-date with the DVD. As we told you in August, both the theatrical, PG-13 cut and the director's R-rated cut will be included (not via seamless branching, but on separate discs). A digital copy of the theatrical version will also be included. "
Can't wait to watch the R-rated cut!

I'm definitely curious about the other cut. I saw this in the theatre this summer and I wasn't that impressed with it. It was okay, but... eh. Maybe the other cut might redeem it a bit for me.

I love the cover you've started for it though, Morpheo!

I wonder how this will compare with the international release from Sony.

I must admit that I really enjoyed this movie. It certainly wasn't on the same level as the James Cameron films, but it kicked the abominable T3 in the groin. It was fun without being gaudy or empty-headed.

I too am interested in the new cut. The movie didn't seem particularly neutered with the PG-13 version, but why not?

At least Warner is offering both cuts this time.

I enjoyed certain scenes/shots, but the whole thing left me a bit cold. The addition of a topless scene isn't going to turn the whole thing around and somehow save the plot and characters.

: The theatrical versions are the definitive versions.

hehe, but somehow I don't think the DC will be about adding topless shots. As Gekkou said, it wasn't on the same level as the J Cameron's films, but it wasn't that bad either. Anyway, I liked it. Sam Worthington almost stole the show.

I know that this movie sort of got panned from the critics but I really enjoyed it. I really like how they designed the T-600s and loved the sound design. A definite purchase for me 

Directors cut 118 min
Theatrical cut 115 min

What a joke. I knew McG was lying when he said he had shot a lot of extra footage.

A topless scene, more explosions, and a re-added scene that has nothing to do with the plot just might though!

I could have sworn I read an interview that said they submitted what they shot and the MPAA gave it a PG-13 and no R-rated cut existed. Of course, now with all the new Blu/DVD news I can't find the interview, or maybe I'm remembering it wrong. Either way, ridiculous.

He did shoot a ton of extra footage. Just watch the trailers - hell, just about everything in the original teaser isn't in the actual movie.

That doesn't mean it's just three minutes of additional footage, could it not have some quantity of different footage in that run time? At least that is about the only hope for this one, IMO.

The Blu-ray edition will span three discs with disc one including the theatrical cut and disc two housing the new director's cut that will run 135 minutes (versus 115 minutes for the theatrical cut). Both versions will be offered in 1080p video and 5.1 Dolby TrueHD audio.

Same here. I think the disc will be impressive in the a/v department. Sometimes that's enough for a purchase.

T4, was one of the Summer's best films.
According to what I have read the Director's Cut* has more to offer than boobs; like a golf club filled with Hybrids, and a HYDROBOT!!!

*- It was actually the final version MEANT for release, but people thaught kids would be unable to see an "R" movie.

The proper setting for sharpness is always0.
Also my Oppo BDP-103D is region free.
That makes me awesome.

That's funny. Should have stuck to his guns. At least that way if it only does 120 mil domestic he still put out his best product instead of wussing out. Makes me sick that the proposal and Paul Blart Mall cop did more at the box office than Salvation.

I might rent the DC, but gawdamn, it was no better than T3. McG should be fired and the writers, but nooooo... Christian "Shut the F--k Up!" Bale needs to go too. He was also very weak as John Connor (as bad as Nick Stahl). Talk about a one-note performance, and I wish Marcus had lived and John Connor had been the one to die... and it was all McG, the numerous script doctors, and Bale's fault that made me think this, not the character himself.

Halcyon is just a bunch of moneymen and lawyers trying to cash in. That never bodes well for quality films being produced through an outfit like that. No wonder they put no effort into the film.

Even Linda Hamilton was so-so about it too.

Listen up, studios! Just say "NO" to DNR and EE!!

Three disc Blu-Ray?!? I wonder if they will use a two disc case and put the third in a paper sleeve like Universal did with Fast and Furious?
