Maybe I don't have a trained eye but what was wrong with Anchor Bay's DOTD? I thought it looked great!

I'll take a small amount of print damage over too much DNR any day of the week. I just ordered my copy from HMV.

Ordered it.

Here's the Anchor Bay BD (from Blu-ray.com) and Arrow's BD (from DVDActive):

Edited due to Bleddyn H Williams, God forbid...

Region 0 on which disc, the Blu-ray Disc I hope. Region 0 is a DVD convention, is it not? Anyway, I'd feel better if someone verified its region coding with a player or software application.

DVDActive's review states R0 as well.

http://www.dvdactive.com/reviews/dvd...y-edition.html

BD captures at the bottom of the review.

Very nice. Wonder if the picture 'smears' like the AB release did.

And yes, Region 0 typically refers to DVD...Hope the Blu-ray is Region free as I already have the 'Ultimate' DVD set so the extra DVDs in this set (regardless of region) are useless to me.

Absolutely! Comparing screenshots from two different websites doesn't really do it. Hopefully the Maestro can chip in. The new UK Dawn does look very exciting right now..

To my naked and untrained eye it looks quite obvious that the UK edition has (if any) a lot less DNR applied. The color timing looks somewhat different to me too but better in my opinion.

But I'd like to see some controlled comparison shots before I lay down the dough.

Im picky so last year was a slow one for purchasing BDs but this year it seems like we have lots of options.

NIGHT is also available in HD right now via OnDemand. It's billed as the 40th Anniversary Edition (and not in widescreen).

NIGHT was not shot in and has never been available in widescreen so this is actually good.

Actually, the header of that review states: 'Dawn of the Dead Dawn of the Dead (UK - BD RB)'.

The whole thing makes me a little nervous because I was so excited about the screen shots I ordered it without checking.

Agreed. BTW, AMC is also touting a "remastered/restored" showing of NIGHT. But with their commercials and banner ads covering the lower corners of the screen (talk about a mood breaker!), I'd rather pay a couple bucks for the OnDemand showing.

Region 0 is for DVD - and there are DVDs in the case. The Blu-ray would either be B or A,B,C. Really need someone to 100% confirm that.

THE BLU-RAY DISC HAS PRINTED WITH INK ON IT REGION 0, since that is the second time I have said that maybe caps are needed to get the point across.
That is the BLU-RAY not the DVD

And Blu-ray does not have Regions with numbers's only letters. I've gone through all my UK discs and none of them say anything about Region on the disc (and only one the case which is might Optimum NOTLD). I hope you are right, but I'm just telling you what Region 0 has meant for DVD for the past 13 years while Blu-ray has had letters for the past 3.

Someone out there must have this disc and has the ability to check region coding.
