I can't believe they're cramming the whole thing onto a single disc. It better be a BD-50.

I was thinking this has to be 15 for me to get it (I already paid 5 bucks for the iTunes video plus 10ish for the dvd plus 10ish for the cd)

Amazon link says $14!
I love Joss, anyone else would try to gouge the audience for 20 bucks minimum.

I can definately tell the difference in the HD itunes video vs the dvd, I look forward to the bluray pq. Lossless audio will also be nice for an audio-focused "movie". (do you call it a movie?)

^ What?!?!?! How dare you tease us with that.

EDIT: When you do watch it, please say whether they fixed that horrible channel swapping during the scene when Hammer sings about saving Penny from the van. That always ruined it for me.

I no longer have the DVD...but can you link me to a more detailed description of it so I can listen for it?

Now you have to tell us the PQ/AQ (of course) and especially if it has a lossless track.

It's when Dr. Horrible, Captain Hammer, and Penny are all in the alleyway after the vans stops and he pushes her into the garbage.

I'm pretty sure it's when they start singing the channel switch kicks in, and it's horribly obvious when Cpt. Hammer is on the left and Penny is on the right, and the audio is hard panned and reversed.

Will be watching tonight (had plans last night). I did pop it in and it has a DD 5.1 and 2.0 track only. No lossless. I am sampling a few scenes right now, and while it's a clear improvement over the DVD(s), this probably looks more like something you would rent in HD from Xbox/PS3/VOD. It's really inbetween quality.

Thanks, I will let you know tonight.

Ok, just watched that scene (like 13 minutes in, right?) and all dialog is coming through my center speaker. Didn't sound weird at all..

No lossless. Meh. At least it has a surround track. I suppose it is worth the $12.50 it costs at DeepDiscount.

Got around to popping in the DVD. It's on 13m 07s when Penny is standing to the right of the screen, but her voice is hard panned to the left; the other characters also exhibit the same flaw. I assume you were watching the 5.1 sound though, since you said all of it was coming from the center speaker. If you could find the time to see what it's like on 2.0 option, I would be very grateful.

$12.37 now. That's a pretty crazy price. They're legit, I assume?

I'll give it a shot later tonight when I'm home. Didn't think about the 2.0 issue.

Gizmo, I believe someone has incorrect info here as the reviewer over at HTF said this disc has both a DTS-HD 5.1 lossless track and a DTS 2.0 lossy track. You might want to check your copy again.

Well, I bought the itunes version, then the itunes album, then the dvd and cd... and yeah I'd have paid 20$ for the bluray, so the cheap price is just gravy. It's good to know not every person in Hollywood is greedy.

No lossless is dissapointing, but I'll get over it in 3..2..1.. Okay, I'm over it.

Had the DVD, but sold it when I knew the Blu was coming... Pre-ordered from Amazon, and it is almost ready to ship.

Yeah baby!  It's Halloween!

Thanks for the heads up on that price. I also pre-ordered it yesterday, and all I have to do now is wait for it to ship!

My Best Buy in Burlington MA didn't get it yet. And online you can't select in-store pickup. Looks like they haven't got them around Boston yet.

I don't get it. Isn't this just a 45 minute short? What do they need a BD50 for? Is there a longer version I'm not aware of? I've never seen the film, but anything with both Joss Whedon and Nathan Fillion is a blind-buy for me.

Correct. 45 minutes. There's a significant amount of special features on the disc, but I don't know why, even at a high bitrate, there would be any "cramming" to worry about.

Thanks for that. If it's not a truncated version of its former self, I'll being placing an order asap.

Well, I thought appending a smiley was enough to indicate humor. It was light-hearted sarcasm, poking fun at the reaction common here when a full feature film comes out on a BD-25.
