I've apparently been transported into some kind of bizarro world in which the Lynch film is not a horrible nightmare. ...Or maybe it has aged over these nearly 30 years, like a festering cocooned pupal, into something entirely unlike what I remember from my previous several viewings? ...Or, Occam-wise, perhaps you are simply mad, sir. LOL...yeah, well, you're not the only person to bring this up.
The problem with trying to fit Dune into a singular movie is the novel doesn't really lend itself to it.
FH's Dune is very dense, with a lot of characters and deep political intrigue.
IMO, FH's Dune series is PERFECT for a multi-year series in the mold of GoT: 12 hours per year per book.
Unfortunately, it seems Hollywood doesn't agree with me.
Swine are good people too.
