I'll buy when it's a single disc. Don't need the DVD/Digital DIscs. Maybe they'll even change the cover by then!

cover could have been much better. Why don't they just use the poster?

Day one purchase for me though, movie was great. Lots of great action.

I'll rent this on one condition: someone has to convince me it is better than The Watchmen.
I hated that over-hyped POS.....

Don't look at me, as I felt the Ultimate Cut version of WATCHMEN was one of the better movies of 2009 (EXCEPT for the sex-scene, which was horrendous!). However, I also enjoyed KICK-ASS as well. It's a much simpler, less ambitious flick. More fun (despite or maybe partly because of the un-PC elements) than somber. However, if one of the reasons you hated WM was due to violence, there is a bit of that in K-A as well.

I admit I only saw the D.C. and that is the source of my opinion.
Love movies without P.C. (if smart).
Love movies with violence (generally and if smart).
My viewing experience of The Watchmen D.C. left me with the very opposite impression of "smart."

Think of this movie as 'Superbad' meets 'Kill Bill'. I thought it was hilarious.

Yep...loved Hit Girl. And I also loved Nic Cage's Adam West impersonation too! Can also count me in as a WATCHMEN fan...one of my favorite films from last year. (although I felt Malin Ackerman was miscast...and agree that the love scene was laughable.)

I'm thinking it must be the only movie he's ever seen, which is very odd for someone on this forum and with that many posts.

Could you please post a list of what you consider great movies so that I can make sure to avoid them?

Will definitely be getting Kick-Ass day one, could care less if they put the Golden Girls on the cover - would still buy it without hesitation.

Loved it.
Kind of shocked they don't use the "unrated" gimmick.
Not sure what they would add, but I would expect some kind of "Kick Ass Cut".

Well, I think even the standard cut of "Watchmen" is infinitely better'n "Kick Ass."

IMO, Kick Ass is one of those love it or hate it kinda movies. It seems to have a polarizing effect on most viewers.

On one hand, it's supposed to portray what it would be like for a typical teenager who decides to become a superhero - even though the kid has no super powers. For the most part in the first half, the movie goes to great lengths to make it all seem so... ordinary and at its best in those scenes, it works.

But once Hit Girl is introduced, there's all sorts gravity/physics defying wire-fu action sequences that throw any link to realism out the window. Plus, the overtly fetishistic aspect of a little girl dressed in leather "kicking ass" in slo-mo while Joan Jett tunes blast on the soundtrack borders perilously close to child exploitation at times.

There is a cynical, smug streak that runs through the movie but the fact that it *is* entertaining and even funny at times like prime Tarantino ultimately means that yes, it is worth a look even if you wind up hating it...... and yourself for being taken in.

T.B.
