They are airing Season One episodes in true HD (1.33:1 pillarboxed, like the blu-rays) on Tuesday nights, starting at 6pm EST. Tonight, they're showing six episodes in airdate order: "The Naked Now" through "Justice." Then, "The Last Outpost" through "Justice" again, followed by "The Naked Now" and "Code of Honor" again (for some reason).

FYI, this may be relevant to our interests... could Netflix get the next original Star Trek series?

Seems ST TNG is now in HD on Space (bell).
Still 4:3 but nice picture.

The Enterprise is especially nice to look at.

It's sad that I can order the UK boxset for around half of what it costs to buy all seven seasons here in America.

The Aussie set is even cheaper at around $220 and it has the same design as the UK set but with better packaging. Americans are getting screwed by CBS Paramount.

Amazon just halved the price of the currently released seasons down to $32. That brings the show in line with the boxset cost if you buy the current seasons though the unreleased 7th is still at full price and will drive the price for owning them all a wee bit above the boxset price.

I wonder if movies are treated like electronics (can't be shipped to Canada)?

If anyone wants to buy the current releases on Amazon, make sure you buy them from Amazon and not a third-party as there have been reports of fake sets (whatever that means) being sold from the third-party sellers.

Still waiting on these to drop a little in price. Guessing by next xmas they'll be reasonable, and/or in a box set.

I've been making my way through the first six sets and the picture is great. The sound is good too, but the bass is a bit heavy, unnatural sounding, and very distorted in some scenes compared to other Blu-Ray titles I watch. Any time the Enterprise does a fly-by, my sub goes to 14, even at non-boosted settings.

The bass is hot, for sure. Amazon Prime is using the new HD masters and the difference from the Netflix (old masters) is profound even when streaming.

Just for ****s n giggles, I decided to test the stereo track and it too causes my sub to rumble at almost the same intensity.

Do you want it to not be accurate or are you saying that other warp and/or impulse engines don't have that that much bass?? Maybe some ****ty Cardassian ones you have around wherever you are at don't sound like that but here in the Federation our ships are all about that bass.

I want deep space nine in HD! I have all the seasons of TNG which I bought for $35 each last black friday. I admit I'm not the biggest fan of the audio feed at least in season 2... sound effects are too loud compared to the voices.. I could crank up the center speaker except a number of the effects are also in the center speaker which makes them super loud. I find this can be common in a number of films/shows but it's pretty bad at least on the season 2 blurays which is all the further I've got watching.

I am pretty late to the party but I got the complete STTNG bluray set from Zavvi over the holidays for about $60 and I have recently gotten then ripped and put on my server and have started watching a few episodes. Holy crap did they do a nice job with these. Trek has never looked so good. I have a long way to go in watching these but seeing them in this HD glory has been awesome so far and I can't wait to watch more.

Like the rest of you I can only hope for DS9 (and I want Voyager as well) to get released on bluray.

Sales of the TNG Blu-Rays were not so great due to high pricing - many only bought the seasons when they went on sale - and the move to streaming TV shows, so I don't think we'll see DS9 or Voyager until the cost of doing them goes down and they can do the entirety of TNG/DS9/VOY in UHD, which is several years off at least. TNG was scanned at 4K for the restoration/remastering, but all the remastering and cleaning work was done at 1080P/2K.

Wow, $60 for the whole set? I only bought Season 1 and it was about that price IIRC, but then the audio had problems and they sent me replacement discs and all that. After the Season 2 fiasco, I sat back and waited, but then kind of lost interest and watched all the HD seasons on Amazon Prime (the wife and I were binging TNG/DS9/VOY and the Blu-ray seasons weren't coming out fast enough to keep up). I would certainly pay $60 for all of them, though, flaws and all!
