Anybody else complain about these titles? Maybe I will check Speed over the weekend.

Also can you see anything on the surface of the discs?

All of the disc surfaces are clean and unblemished. I tried to wipe from inner ring outward using a lint free microfiber cloth that I picked up solely to clean DVDs and Blu-rays, but still have same problem. I store all my discs in their original blu-ray cases, standing vertically on a shelf in a large storage closet in my home. I have a large collection and I recently decided to check out discs that I had previously read in threads like this one of certain titles that had gone bad. This is my running tally should anyone else decide to check if they had a similar problem with their discs.

The discs that won't load at all: Total Recall; Ninth Gate; Stargate
The discs that play until a certain point and then freeze with pixilation are: Rambo III; Pirates of the Caribbean; Rise of the Silver Surfer; Speed

Watched Speed last night played fine, I have had it for a couple of years and this is the first time I played it.

With 400+ titles in my library i hope blu ray disc rot is a rare event !
I find this hub delamination on several DVD's, though the still play.

Once upon a time there were issues with older Anchor Bay DVD's including the Movie "FM" which I had to get a refund on.

These were produced in a certain plant in Indiana.

My Bluray Copy of Crank 2 would not load on a non internet activated machine, the fix was to place a memory stick in the usb slot, some kind of memory swap, why I shy away from these smart BluRay players that connect to the internet... its really an inessesary feature.
