I wonder if the individual Camp/Jail releases have different (better) encodes than this double feature?

If they took the time to create new encodes for the individual release, I would be very surprised. Delighted, but surprised. I could see Jail benefitting from a higher bit rate due to the macroblocking in darker scenes, but Camp probably wouldn't look much different. There would have to be a major, noticeable increases in quality to get me to double dip on Ernest Blu-rays.

well it is 2.0 DD

looks decent... bitrate hovers ~30MBps through most of the film

first time i've ever been able to read more than "MIAK" and "PLAIN" on the label... it's Original Bulgarian MIAK (direct screen grab might make the bit between miak and plain more readable than my crappy photo)

I agree, but the reason why I ask is because Echo Bridge did that with their double feature Blu-Rays. The individual releases supposedly got a better encode.

This person over on BR.com compared the Hellraiser releases...

Hell Raiser is Echo Bridge, and the Ernest films are done by Mill Creek. I don't think you can apply the logic that individuals will be better than the double packs.

Mill Creek was my elementary school.

I'm well aware of that. I just brought it up as a possibility.

Any update? Best PQ in the individual releases or are they the same encoding?

The individual releases have higher bitrate video encodes but lossy audio. I am not sure if the sound/video is noticeably different between the two. Pick your poison.
