Early retailer information indicates that, on May 3, Echo Bridge Entertainment will release on Blu-ray four movies from the Miramax/Dimension catalog: The Crow: City of Angels, From Dusk Till Dawn, Halloween H2O and The Yards: No release details are available at the moment.

A month ago it had been announced that Echo Bridge had acquired rights to 251 titles from the Miramax library (see Blu-ray.com, February 18).

Now I like From Dusk Till Dawn and Halloween H20 just fine, but why are we getting City Of Angels BEFORE The Crow?????
This is what happens when you cut up the catalogue Miramax!!!!
They had better have the licence for the extras also

I'm guessing that Lionsgate will distribute the higher profile titles (like the original Crow) while Echo Bridge gets the lower profile titles (like the Crow sequels).

My point was the splitting of the catalogue has made this happen, Lionsgate should have beaten them to the punch

If you want the Crow just get the Geneon version from Japa....
Oh, yeah- maybe you shouldn't

The proper setting for sharpness is always0.
Also my Oppo BDP-103D is region free.
That makes me awesome.

Not so fast, first batch of Miramax titles look like garbage on their new DVDs (found 'em early at Wal Mart...really regretting it...)

One Fine Mess: Miramax/Echo Bridge Distribution Switch: Early From Dusk Till Dawn & Hellraiser 3/4 DVD Report...

It's a shame really, From Dusk looks like it's from a good source when it's not artifacting like mad (98% of the time). Even the menu blocks up. We'll see about the Blu-ray...

The Crow: City Of Angels has been found in the wild. I hope they treat other releases better than this...

The poster confirmed it's DTS-HD MA 2.0 rather than lossy, at least.

My 'The Crow: City of Angels' DVD has DTS 5.1! This is ridiculous.

I want to see the PQ before I get on the hate wagon, and I find it hard to jump on as they are so cheap.
Lets face it bigger companies have put out worse and charged 3x the price

I'm not sure I understand your meaning.

The laserdisc seemed to have 2.0 Dolby, but the DVD at least had 5.1 DTS. I'd rather that than 2.0 DTS HD-MA.

lol, in my haste, I didn't even see the 'Dolby Digital.' I just looked quick and saw the 'Dolby Surround' (2.0). So yeah, laserdisc and DVD both had 5.1. What's up with this laziness? Sure, it's lossless... But lossless stereo. I don't even want to think about what the video quality looks like. Not that I really care. The "Director's Cut" that the DVD had was not even the best cut of the film. There was a pay-per-view version that had tons more awesome footage. Check this out:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Crow:_City_of_Angels#Pay-Per_View.2FWorkprint_Version

That's something that would make me go out and get a replacement for my DVD. The uncut (pay-per-view) version was darker, had a better ending, and was less like a remake of the first movie.
