They should have kept Mr. Hammond's miniature elephant from the book.

Amazon back down to $49.99 if anyone was wondering. What was the point in the $78 price?

Except that all of those "suckers" will still get it for the lower price thanks to the pre-order price guarantee.

This has been a problem for years. I have three disc versions of the movie Used Cars, each entirely different from the others. Only the first one matches the theatrical posters and program handout. I suspect studios do this just to encourage (some) shoppers to think it is something new, as if improved sound/picture in the "same old" design is not good enough (never mind that it is EXACTLY what almost all of us want).

Or maybe they worry that shoppers will not realize that there is a new version out if in passing it looks the same as the old one on the shelf.

given that this film isn't scope, a lot of the IMAX screen will be used to maximum effect - oh I wish Universal had done released this as such here in the States!

there is a possibility that one of those prints were scanned and that scan is actually the source of the home video transfers-

I don't know for sure, but due to the ending being shot in 35mm, i would think this is could be a reality-

As a lot of people, i have owned the Canon xl1 that they shot 28 days later with and my upscales don't look like either the DVD or the BLU

now, on the DVD vs BLU- they really filtered the crap out of it for all home releases but more so for the BLU-RAY- Either way it is a huge upscale but I prefer the DVD over the BLU- in reality both are crap but i guess there is still a choice to be made-

Saw it opening day on a curved screen and was blown away.

I don't like that the DTS 5.1 has been made 7.1, It means the first film in DTS has a completely different soundtrack.
I was always told that the DVD's DTS track was more un-awesome than usual compared to the LD's DTS. I can't remember the Theatrical's sound as I was too young at the time.

The proper setting for sharpness is always0.
Also my Oppo BDP-103D is region free.
That makes me awesome.

A remix of a classic soundtrack can be a dangerous thing.

I don't remember the sound in theaters EXCEPT that I could feel the impact of the T. Rex approaching and its roar was near sonic overload. I'll be happy if they simply provided the original surround mix in lossless. I don't need 7.1.

Why is it dangerous was what I was addressing. I don't see anything wrong with adding rear channel content while in the process of re-mastering a soundtrack.

Lol, but look at Star Wars for example, that was a 5.1 mix that got ruined adding an extra channel.

In your opinion ...If anything people seem to be very happy with the new mix once they hear it in full and outside of clips .........

For the most part changing something good, only makes it bad. It's just too bad that the first DTS track won't really be there.

The proper setting for sharpness is always0.
