Slightly off topic but I figure you folks will know. I'm a pretty big sci-fi fan but never got into Farscape. I just watched the first couple of episodes on Netflix. How far in must I go before the show really hits its stride?
The first few episodes of any show are generally pretty awful in the overall sense of the series. Just look at TNG. Farscape hits its stride later in season 1 and then never stops.
The first season is up-and-down, but you should be reaching "Pk Tech Girl' and "DNA Mad Scientist" soon, that's when it starts to pick up. "They've Got a Secret" and "Till The Blood Runs Clear" are two more mid-seaon arc episodes.
From "Durka Returns" and on, the show stays mostly in high-gear. Scorpius first appears in "Nerve", which is the start of a season-ending 4-episode mini-arc.
One of the what I call "defining" episodes of Farscape. There are plenty of other examples, but this one REALLY says what the show is about, that this show ain't Star Trek or most any other conventional SF show.
