Has anyone picked this up? I read the review over at blu-ray.com and they seem to think it's just ok as far as AQ and PQ go. I wanted to get this after seeing it last night and $24 at Amazon is just a bit much. I think I'll be waiting for a a price drop so I can add this to my collection. Very fun movie.

I got my Best Buy to pricematch Walmart for 14.96 or something like that last night, haven't watched it yet though. Perhaps tonight.

Now $7.99 at BB (thru 3-2-13) and Amazon.

Watched it last night, and... Holy humongous hominids! This is a cryptozoologist's wet dream. smile.gif

I enjoyed it quite a bit. As a member of the found footage/quasi-documentary genre, it succeeds where most don't, in having a certain grounded, plausible feel to it. The CG is what it is: not perfect, always discernable, yet effective when it needs to be.

I like your analysis and pretty much agree with it Greg.

The FX may not be quite as convincing as the Patterson-Gimlin film wink.gif but they were still pretty good imo.

A little thread hijacking here but what's funny with that Bigfoot video is that how many people believe, to this day, that it's real. Even though the person that designed the costume and the guy who wore the costume (who were both friends of Gimlin and Patterson) both admitted it was a hoax years ago. Despite that, they still produce shows after thier admission trying to determine if the film was real. Oh the film is real alright. It's a real film showing a guy in an overgrown monkey suit walking around.

And if you think that isn't enough, all you have to do is watch the guy who wore the costume do his natural walk. I saw the show where he admitted to it and he lived in the same area as the guys who shot it and they showed him walking and it was the exact same walk as the "Bigfoot". It was pretty funny to watch if you watched that infamous film countless times previously.

I knew very little about this one going into it, but I'd heard about it around the 'net, then I found it on Netflix and loved it.

Welcome to Rivendell, Mister Anderson.
