I'm told the special features will indeed include the 22-minute documentary, "The Noah Cross Guide to Being a Loving Parent."

Finally!

Genuine, it's listed as a feature:

In addition, the Blu-ray contains a slipcover with the original theatrical poster art as well as a collectible booklet with information about the film.

Noir has been deeply under-serviced on Blu-ray so far. Hopefully this will open the floodgates.

That's kind of hilarious.

Hopefully this isn't waiting for us underneath the slip!

Right - those shoddy transfers of The Ten Commandments, White Christmas, and Breakfast at Tiffany's - yeah, wait for those reviews.

Unbelievable. They do three of the best transfers ever done for Blu-ray and they don't have a stellar record. Got it.

Three out of 500 is a poor hit rate indeed

Really? Every other Paramount release besides the three I mentioned are horrible. Really? Every one - you've seen 'em all, DVD Mike? It is to laugh.

I am usually very uncomfortable using the term "abortion" to describe anything but, um, an abortion. To put a less-than-perfect video transfer in the same class as an aborted human fetus veers well into the area of gross hyperbole. But that's just me.

To the point of the general level of Paramount titles on Blu-ray, my experience is that the good far, far outnumbers the bad, or even the "less than good".

In other words, opinions vary.

Personally, I expect a stellar edition of a great American film.

Not the connotation I was going for, but ok.
If you want to expect perfection from Paramount then cool.

I'm pretty confident this release will be fine. Paramount used to be hit and miss but their more recent releases have been really good. Hopefully they will keep the original filmed credits and the original audio mix in lossless, unlike The African Queen which had some of the most digital-looking credit re-creations I've ever seen and very low bitrate lossy audio.

Well, after The Ten Commandments, White Christmas, and Breakfast at Tiffany's, yes, I'll think positively rather than negatively. It's much more fun, but I understand negative is the order of the day on these types of boards.

Exactly how many Paramount titles does DVD Mike own, I wonder? Out of that 500 number. It's easy to make lofty pronouncements. But any studio that can take the care that they took with the three titles I mentioned will always get the benefit of the doubt with me. And other Paramounts I've seen have been okay - of course, I don't buy the stuff that doesn't interest me, and I'm sure that's a lot of what people are going on about.

I sure as hell hope Paramount doesn't rub Grease and Grit on this transfer!

It ain't ignorance causes so much trouble; it's folks knowing so much that ain't so

Braveheart's transfer was Fox, same with minority report.
SPR and Gladiator had director involvement due to Paramount not being trusted to do it alone

Hope would be a better word. Should not take any title for granted, look how poor the supposedly 'perfect' Disney's release of Good Morning Vietnam is.

White Christmas has black line EE all over it, not thick but it's there. Overall it has mild processed look and handly what I would call 'taken care of' that much.

All Dreamworks titles, that are simply distributed by Paramount.
