...Additionally, this same press release offers further information about Paramount's centennial Blu-ray plans. As with the sweepstakes, each coming month will see the release of a previously unavailable (on Blu-ray) title; so far, Paramount has issued detailed Blu-ray specifications for the following titles:

January 24th: Wings
February 7th: Love Story
March 6th: To Catch a Thief
April 3rd: Chinatown

However, the studio also used the press release to tease additional 2012 Blu-rays. Coming soon are:

May 1st: Clueless
June 5th: Hondo
July 3rd: Barbarella
August 7th: Clue

Other than the specific street dates, no technical or supplementary details are known for these four films.

I take it the whole "Sapphire Series" thing didn't pan out, did it?

The proper setting for sharpness is always0.
Also my Oppo BDP-103D is region free.
That makes me awesome.

I hate these pseudo deluxe series... It never lasts. I guess Paramount will reissue SPR, Gladiator, American Beauty, Braveheart, Forrest Gump at some point without the so-called sapphire moniker. Just release the damn thing properly with decent extras and that's it.

To Catch A Thief, Chinatown, and Clueless for me. I have a soft spot for Alicia Silverstone.

I think its the fact that both Gladiator and SPR had to be recalled, thus ruining the brand.

It doesn't look like Hondo will be in 3-D, hope at least that it's widescreen (the DVD was full-screen, IIRC).

Clue is the only one I want, and I guess I'll have to wait the longest for it.

I hope it's the 1968 Barbarella and not something else, still being Paramount I wont get my hopes up too high for a nice transfer.

The Clue BD has been posted about in another thread but I think it deserves repeating:

http://www.doblu.com/2012/07/26/clue-review/

I said I would be shocked if Paramount releases more full (or near) grain BDs like Barbarella and shocked I am. Two in a row going by those caps.

She is in the upcoming Butter. Well the supposedly upcoming Butter. The cut I saw was pretty well polished and that was like, well ages ago, it's gotta be almost two years at this point and it appeared to test very well but somehow it just keeps getting delayed for this or that reason non-stop. But supposedly now coming to a theater near you this October. (actually Alicia doesn't really have a huge part, but she is in it some, it's really a pretty funny film biggrin.gif)
