lolwtf

I'd like to swap out Trinity for the 2nd one.

On a related note, I know the Alliance version of Blade was cropped and should be avoided. Was Blade 2 from Alliance good? I thought I remember that one being okay.

Not that I don't believe you, but how do you come to that conclusion guess?

Also, why no Blade 2? Derp.

Because they are recent new oar transfers, just an educated guess.

I have the Dutch releases and the first one is riddled with EE, so I hope it's not the same transfer.

Also looks like audio drops from 24-bit to 16-bit and half the bit rate. Still DTSMA, but yeah... seems disappointing.

What is so hard about putting each film on a BD50 and maxing out the disc with the highest quality OAR video and lossless audio? Did the Blade series not perform well enough at the box office or home video? Did Snipes bring the OCN to prison with him? WTF

If they WB isn't releasing Blade II then that puts Alliance's disc in high demand.

The proper setting for sharpness is always0.
Also my Oppo BDP-103D is region free.
That makes me awesome.

I would not gauge the new discs on those links, they are just to illustrate what I think the transfers will be, not the final make up of the discs

Blade 2:
July 10th
New extras
1.85:1
DTSHDMA 5.1
Include "movie cash" for Dark Knight Rises. Using Marvel IP to promote DC IP? Funny, but not unheard of.

(and Blade and Blade Trinity also coming same day)

I would be shocked if WB did right with the Blade Series.
It should have been one of the first releases for the format....

No doubt Zoey is pulling legs here. Right? Has to be joking?

Anyway, I'm glad they finally are going to be putting Blade II out. In my opinion it's the best one. I still pretend Trinity did not happen. What was that?

Maybe I'm a sucker for Jessica's body and Ryan's sarcasm, but I enjoyed Trinity. The first is my favorite.

I dont agree with that at all I just want OAR. If Blade 2 is indeed a 1.85 OAR even though my dvd is 2.35 (I dont understand this and curious to get some clarification on it), then glad we are finally getting the proper version, but it just seems VERY strange to me that the dvd is 2.35 if the OAR is 1.85.

Dunno what version of Blade II you have, but I've got the original U.S. two-disc release and it's 1.85:1 (actually 1.78:1, per WHV's policy). The back cover says 2.35:1, but this was an error, plain and simple -- it doesn't reflect what's on the actual disc, nor does it reflect the theatrical AR (which was 1.85:1).

Which DVD do you have? Unfortunately (and stupidly) for me, I sold my Blade DVDs a couple years ago when I heard the Blu-rays were coming only to still be waiting for proper releases... so I can't verify the Blade 2 DVD aspect ratio.

Everything I've ever read (and from my memory of watching it), Blade 2 was and is 1.85 and was never intended for 2.35. If a 2.35 version exists, it was likely cropped vertically (losing picture from top and bottom) from the 1.85 master. I'm willing to accept otherwise if there is evidence that I haven't seen.

Exactly. Blade II is a 1.85:1 movie. And you shouldn't really expect otherwise considering that it's directed by Guillermo del Toro. Off hand, I can't think of a film he's made that's 2.35:1.

It's basically the Ryan Reynolds show. His delivery (and to a lesser extent, that of Parker Posey) is about the only thing that keeps that flick afloat considering Snipes' absolutely leaden performance. I mean, cast and crew may have already disliked Snipes and talked about his behavior in previous films but he still managed to inject some life in the character for those two. But in Trinity? Bleah.
