I'd put a hundred bucks down on this being a re-package of the seperate releases.

I hope no one is dumb enough to take that bet. This is a somewhat shameless money-grab tie-in for Dark Knight Rises, hence the $8 coupon inside. I say "somewhat" only because it comes with some nifty extras. I'd be shocked if there was anything else "new" about this set.

Inception doesn't need a new transfer, but the others would benefit greatly. I would love to see The Dark Knight with out all that crappy edge enhancement during the 35MM portions.

Ah with you, I like Nolan but if you mention another director like Fincher he becomes Brett Ratner in comparison.

Memento is mostly a remake of Following. Following and Inception are his only original movies- everything else was work for hire.

I also think he fakes the whole British thing.

Dark Knight looked miles better than the first Batman, which has a very apparent softening to the image, probably to make it fit in a <15GIG encode.

His brother isn't British. They both grew up in Chicago.

The Prestige wasn't "original" (in that it was an adaptation of someone else's story), but the Nolans developed the film adaptation from the beginning -- they stumbled upon the novel while promoting Memento and had Newmarket option it on their behalf. It wasn't brought to them by an outside party.

It goes from looking pretty fantastic to downright crap, that is the definition of inconsistent.

I did notice The Prestige appears to be absent from this set. I've already got that one, though. Then again, I also have BB, TDK, and Inception as well, so.. not exactly worth the collection.

I question the point of sets like this, to be honest, since the vast majority of the people that want these films already own them.

Welcome to Rivendell, Mister Anderson.

The funny thing, is that Warner have the international rights to The Prestige, while Disney appear to not want to let them include it in a US boxset.

lol
