Nice!

Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work. -- Thomas Alva Edison

I kind of wish they'd gone with the original theatrical poster for the cover art, but hey... Preordered. As cheesy as this movie is, it actually retains its level of cheese over time...in a good way. smile.gif

This is a for sure buy for me. I grew up in Las Vegas, NM where this movie was filmed. Two really good friends of mine are in the picture that Patrick Swayze pulls out of his wallet after they kill their friend. Great memories of watching the parachuters, drive-in sceene, and fighting scenes at the railroad.

Is anybody making a custom cover for this disc to replace the atrocious new cover art?

Yeah, tell me about it.

Why does everyone always have to be calmly walking out of the smoking wreck of something in the cover art for these war flicks?

Because cool guys don't look at explosions. biggrin.gif

In this case, it's the fact that the cover art is like some unholy mishmash of the theatrical poster and the old MGM DVD cover that just makes it look...blah. Yeah, let's see if we can find some custom art...

I just watched this last night. I thought the presentation was serviceable, especially when you factor in the cost. I think this is the first time I have sat down and watched this movie from beginning to end as opposed to catching bits and pieces of it on HBO when I was growing up.

Complete serious question: Is Lea Thompson's character supposed to be mentally retarded, or is her acting just that bad?

The acting in this film as a whole leaves much to be desired, so if it's her bad acting that's really saying something.
