this is interesting - does any other blu ray do this? i've never heard of this before and I think its a GREAT idea. and I've seen my fair share of crappy blu ray covers. In fact, for almost all the blu rays I own I would like to do this (ironic that the original halloween is one of the few blu rays that has poster art as the cover art).

Halloween III: Season of the Witch
- Everything applies from above.
- Lossless original mono!!!
- I've grown to really like this movie. Amazing score and atmosphere!

although i cant' share the same sentiment wink.gif , I always thought Halloween III was actually the best of the sequels. as a purist, I liked the idea of having a different story for each Halloween. as far as Im concerned, there is John Carpenter's Halloween, Halloween II is my Halloween II, and Bryan Singers Trick or Treat is my Halloween III wink.gif

in any event, sounds like the most you can ask for if you like these movies.

This seems too good to be true. The first Blu-Ray, which I bought and foolishly let someone borrow (who subsequently lost it!) was a DNR free gem. Absolutely mind blowingly film like with true grain of the film stock of that period. It seems impossible that a second release would not b DNR'd. That's what always happens with initial grainy transfers. They get de-grained upon their second release.

- The TV version's picture quality is excellent, better than during any broadcast.

HALLOWEEN II was recorded in Dolby Stereo and every release from the early days of VHS on were in stereo. Not sure why anyone would want to hear the mono version of it...

Shout fortunately doesn't typically throw DNR over their BD's (see the Corman discs or even Damnation Alley!)

Is it your typo? I thought I saw some specs that also listed it as having a DTS MA mono track. I guess the movie was recorded in Dolby Stereo but wasn't released that way because of some DeLaurentiis cheapening-out at the time. Who knows!

My wife is a HUGE Horror fan and would dig this on BD. Is there a equal release of the first Halloween?
If not, it's not a deal breaker, but I'd like to get the best of the Halloween movies for her in time for Halloween, her favourite holiday.

Wish I could rent them. I promised the wife I wouldn't buy any more Blu-Rays the rest of the year. I kinda went overboard in the last few months.
