Missed it in theaters (the story of my life these days), and I'm not the type to pass up spooky animation, so here it comes:

I really liked this one. Will be buying it on release day.

Stephen.

Chances are very good that I was drinking when I posted the above.

This movie won't hit the theatres over here until 10 Jan 2013. Definitely will be buying it.

I'll pick it up today. I remember the stop motion in the theater taking just a few moments to get used to. Spoiled by modern CGI animation, I suppose.

That's funny, because when I see animation that looks hand made, I'm immediately more inclined to like it smile.gif I'll probably use Paranorman to demo my new 42" Panny LCD before I take it downstairs to the projector. I should get my second blu ray player today.

It does look amazing. I'd say worthy of demo material, but that's almost a given with modern animation. There's a life and a substance to Laika stop motion in particular that takes it above CG, in my opinion. The story is not quite on the level of Coraline or Corpse Bride, but it's a very good movie.

Watched my copy a few nights ago and it was a great looking and sounding disc. Played it on my 106" screen with my Epson 8350 and i really loved the more mature story telling/look they went with the film. Sure they have the kid moments in there too but the overall tone wasn't too kid friendly and i applaud the studio for allowing the directors to do so. (although it is a great anit-bullying movie message wise) that It did lag a bit in the middle story wise but overall the beginning and end were pretty solid.

My kids watched it, ages 6, 8 and 10. None of them gave it a thumbs up. I think it was aimed just a bit older than what I expected.
