EDIT

Now official January 29th

Quote:
Disc 1: Die Hard Blu-ray

Disc 2: Die Hard 2: Die Harder Blu-ray

Disc 3: Die Hard with a Vengeance Blu-ray

Disc 4: Live Free or Die Hard Blu-ray

Disc 5: Decoding Die Hard Blu-ray
Modern-Day Hero — Casting, evolution and legacy of John McClane
Along For The Ride — Engaging sidekicks who have teamed up with McClane
Bad To The Bone — McClane's well-armed and formidable foes
Punishing Blows — Creating the intense action sequences, fistfights and stunts
Explosive Effects — Role of groundbreaking visual and special effects including some of the biggest explosions on screen
Reinventing The Action Genre — Development of the franchise from concept to character to story
The Right Hero For The Right Time — Appeal and influence of Die Hard films on pop culture

No conformation from Fox USA/UK yet (I am guessing February when the new movie hits)
But Den Of Geek have this:
Quote:
We have to get to Die Hard, of course. It’s really rare in an action film such as that for a part that I can’t imagine took more than two to three weeks to film, to be so striking and impactful 20-odd years later.

A couple of months ago, I did the 25th anniversary DVD commentary. Isn’t that crazy? 1988.

From Hart Bochner

http://www.denofgeek.com/movies/23335/hart-bochner-interview-ellis-in-die-hard-directing-and-more

And we have some art:

I am liking the covers, miles better than the old ones.

Yeah, I'd probably spring for that too.

Not enough information to go on yet for the rest of it, though I don't like those covers either...

That's some ugly artwork.
Fox has been pretty good about redoing their older transfers lately, hopefully we'll see Die Hard get a fancy new remaster.

I bloody hope so, and I know whenever I say that I need to duck and cover.

Also the cover art plot thickens

It's just the way he's raising his eyebrows. Even kids would get those. They're also boasted more because of the contrast boost in the shots.

I would happily pay for a Die Hard boxset if it we got new transfers and re-mixes for 1-3 and the unrated cut of 4 to go along with a director's/unrated cut of 5 and a special features disc. Just saying....

i think that's what's going to happen (new transfers). I can't see any other reasson why they would re-package this

Well Hart Bochner said he recorded a commentary recently so they're clearly adding new extras for this release, which is going to coincide with DH5's release, but whether they'll go to expense of making new transfers? - Fox don't have a great track record - look at what they did to Predator, we could be in for waxy-McClane.

Also, the packaging for these films just keeps getting worse. If it was some kind of 'deluxe 5 star edition' I'd be more hopeful, but this cheap-ass cover screams budget-effort all round.

At least they're being released separately. I would never buy a box set just to avoid having that juvenile, bland, hollow, Die-Hard-for-kidz supposed fourth instalment anywhere near The Die Hard Trilogy. The new film looks set to be just as patronising, with John Moore directing and Skip Woods writing - studio bitch-hacks overseen by that awful enemy of cinema - Tom Rothman.

Anyway, here's hoping these blus are a pleasant surprise and that Fox have given the king of action movies the treatment it deserves.

At least they came around and re-did Patton. Took them years after they said they were gonna do it, but they did it.

They are okay according to the reviews but new transfers from the negatives would be ideal.

They aren't amazing, but nor are they close to bad. Just good to OK. If you own the R1 DVD of Vengeance, the Blu-ray is about 10,000,000 times better. wink.gif
