The Netflix series House of Cards Season One BR is available for pre-order.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00BC5FN2C/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00

No release date. It should look dramatically better than its Netflix streaming counterpart.

I finally found the time to start watching this series, I'm through the first four episodes and its starting to pick up steam now. I will say the first episode wasn't that good so hopefully people will give it a chance past that pilot episode. As for the streaming quality, mine starts out very sloppy then after about a minute or 2 it smoothes out and gets a much better PQ. The dark scenes are where you really see the drop off in PQ IMO as the blacks are not sharp and it seems pixelated. other then that the PQ is pretty good, but could be much better. well thats my 2 cents, hope netflix continues this series and looking forward to more original programming from them.

I know this is supposed to be more about the PQ and AQ, but how does it compare to the BBC version?

Seems much, much psychologically darker (the U.S. version) and with less sly witticisms. Kevin Spacey is playing almost pure, sleazy evil... and he's always great at it! biggrin.gif Here Spacey is playing against type: he's a Democrat, but a bad one (Spacey is actually quite liberal). However, the show isn't bashing one party over the other... it's bashing the entire corrupt system.

It's the anti-West Wing. And, unfortunately, closer to the machinations of real politicians rather than a wistful look at how Washington should be.

I'll definitely pick this up. The streaming quality is lousy, both in terms of audio and video. The show is shot and mastered at 4k and even the 1080p Blu-ray won't do the cinematography justice.

Listen up, studios! Just say "NO" to DNR and EE!!
