Enter the Dragon 40th Anniversary Blu-ray will be released on June 11, 2013. The question becomes how much different will it be from the previous BR release?

From blu-ray.com:

Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has officially announced that it will release Robert Clouse's Enter the Dragon in a Collector's Edition Giftset on June 11th. The film, which helped bring interest in the Asian martial arts genre to mainstream Western cinema, has been re-mastered for its 40th anniversary, and will now feature new bonus materials.

What new features... everything that exists is out there already.

I thought the last ETD BD I bought was remastered... I will have to see it measured to be sure it is actually a remaster

My Enter the Dragon disc has the worst aliasing artifacts I have seen. Willy Wonka had aliasing artifacts in the hd-dvd version and WB's fix for the BD did not impress me.

The original ETD master was a dinosaur and at 1080i and "de-interlaced" poorly. They cheated and didn't create new 24 fps masters for HD discs. The same thing happened with a few of the first WB Blu-ray discs like the Lethal Weapon films and The Fugitive.

Hopefully, The Fugitive will be re-scanned at at least 4k off the OCN's, restored, and re-released. Not at all interested in ETD.

Listen up, studios! Just say "NO" to DNR and EE!!

The "new" features for the 40th anniversary edition.
"ETD" on Blu now is the from the erroneous transfer done for the 4/17/07 release.
Sure hope this is 1080p perfection!

"I wonder if any of the releases had slipcovers though."
"Are these comfirmed to have slipcovers?"
"They look nice in those slips."
"This slipcover looks too good to pass up."

What "fix" did WB do for the BD of "WW&tCF"?

You should see the old release of Lethal Weapon 2 on HD DVD and Blu Ray from 06, makes the current Enter the Dragon look pristine.

The more things change, the more they stay the same.

From your most recent post, take it you know of no "fix".

The only fix would be to do a new restoration from the OCN's and a new 4k master.

There is a night and difference between this release and the 2007 BR release. Both video-wise and audio-wise. Better definition and film like. Can't ask anymore than that. So yes, it has definitely been remastered.

"I wonder if any of the releases had slipcovers though."
"Are these comfirmed to have slipcovers?"
"They look nice in those slips."
"This slipcover looks too good to pass up."

I'm baffled by the high price. I guess if Warner does something right they want lots of $$$ for it.

Agreed. I've had this one in my Amazon cart for months, waiting for it to drop. As much as I like this movie and am glad it's finally been given the attention it deserves, $35 is a little much.

This will come down in price once they remove all the useless extras. I do wish they did a new commentary track; the recycled one is useless and boring. I would have spent a little money and hired Bey Logan to do a new commentary. His commentaries on Bruce's other films were entertaining. And why did they remove "A Warrior's Journey". At least that was interesting. They should have also included the U.S. version of the film.Only way to see it now is on the LD. How hard is it to do seamless branching? I really hate John Little's nasally Bruce Lee dub. How hard is it to get Bruce's voice. I own it on the ETD dialogue audio LP that Warner released in the 70's which included the conversation with the monk in the beginning. I would have gladly lent it to them. They should have done more to justify the price. What am I going to do with a freakin' patch? At least the Japanese version came with a t-shirt even with it's ridiculous $50 price. I will pick this up eventually along with the Shout Factory BD releases of his other films once they are released individually.
