Universal Studios did a fantastic job with the transfer of the film. There's lots of grain with lots of fine detail, another words; it looks like they did not do any "scrubbing" to the image. And the uncompressed audio is the best I've heard this soundtrack.

If you have the DVD release of the same movie, it's definitely worth the upgrade.

Movies must be OAR, sports and movies must also have 5.1 audio, No EE or NO SALE!

Question;

The menu on the disc states DTS-HD Master Audio, yet my receiver says "Stereo." So I'm not sure if it's miss labeled within the disc menu, or it's simply DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 shown as "Stereo."

It's DTS-HDMA 2.0 stereo, to be decoded by pro-logic, old-style.

Thanks. I do remember thinking I saw Left, Right and a (mono) Rear channel indicated. I'll look again the next time I have it loaded.

I've never uploaded movie still images before and would like to give it a try. I have an old copy of Jesus Christ Superstar on DVD and of course the new release on Blu-ray. I'd like to see if I can do some comparisons.

I think my Blu-ray software will allow me to capture a still image, though I have never done it before. Of course it's always fun to see what improvements there have been on newer releases. However, it's always been known that a capture may not really demonstrate how it's going to look on a HDTV display. Though I think it will at least give a good idea on the differences of clarity and aspect ratio.

Talking about aspect ratio, Jesus Christ Superstar's original aspect ratio is 2.39:1 and captured as 2.36:1 on the Blu-ray. This new release is probably as close as we will get to the original aspect ratio barring another transfer.

I could not get a screen capture of the Blu-ray version. However I was able to get some screen captures of the DVD version. The DVD version is pillar boxed. So even without the Blu-ray version, it's easy to see the how low the video quality is with these images.

Even with the images being as small as they are, it would have been easy to see the differences.
