I'm not sure I'm posting this in the right forum, but here goes:
I just started watching Dexter - the seventh season on Blu-Ray (British release) and the audio is in True HD. To me it seems too much sound, i.e. all the music, etc, comes from the surround speakers. Is that how it's supposed to be or is something wrong with my discs?
I didn't have this problem with Game of Thrones that was in DTS, for example.
I personally LOVE the sound design of DEXTER, and just last weekend watched the first two discs of season seven. You are expressing the impression I get when listening, i.e., the sound immerses, envelopes, and comes from all sides. I've never listened to just the rears isolated, but I very much do suspect they are adding a great deal, and a great deal more than is typical in common sound mixes. Hope that helps.
Not a problem, sir. Happy to help -- especially when it comes to DEXTER appreciation! -- one of my absolute favorites -- the blu-ray sound always tickles me. Wait till you get to (I think) the end part of disc one -- there is a cat and mouse sequence (not to give too much away), that will really work out your sub!
