I heard from a guy who heard from a guy, that the 3D version is amazing., probably up there with the best animated 3D released yet.

Shame on Disney for pulling that experiment with this film, especially when the 3D encode is done and in the can.

Do that stuff with garbage like Planes.

Nope, they have a nice expensive 3D set of that.

I ordered the 3D version from Amazon UK, but I am not too pleased with paying $31. May cancel, who knows. This is silly.

Maybe some light at the end of the double dip tunnel:

http://www.stitchkingdom.com/disney-frozen-3d-bluray-october-2014-69957/

Rumor has it that it will be released in NA in time for the holidays in October 2014 in 3D.

Oh well, UK version it is. Thanks Disney for forcing us to go overseas and spend our money in other countries...

Just ordered from Amazon UK for $30. I never understand Disney. As a former theatrical exhibitor, Disney is the most difficult company to deal with. It's all about money for them. Walt would turn over in his grave if he saw what they did to his company.

Walt was a pretty shrewd businessman. He practically invented the rulebook for wringing a property for every last dollar.

It's back!! Wine of the Week! Clos Martinet Tinto, Priorat DOCa, Spain ~$60. If you've not had a good Priorat, you've not truly tried Spain's smallest, yet most unique terroir.

So I purposefully avoided watching Frozen in theaters because it just seemed like one of those movies that would be better at home on my 3d DLP and have purchased and am waiting for the 3d disc from the U.K., all this time have been patiently waiting so that I can see it in all its glory on my set-up... I go over to my girlfriends last night and she goes "oh, we're watching Frozen!!". Her roommate's boyfriend had brought it over. Plllbbbttttt. At least it was blu-ray and they have a decent LCD TV. And surprisingly, the roommate's boyfriend (whom I don't know very well) is also a 3d fan and was lamenting that they didn't have the 3d version when he went to go pick it up.

Why in the hell is this disc's aspect ratio 2.24:1? That's a completely non-standard ratio, and no theater in the world could have projected the movie that way.

Obviously a typo, someone double-tapped the 2 in 2.4:1

No, the Blu-ray transfer actually measures 2.24:1.

Amazon UK has shipped my order for Frozen 3D. Guess it will take about a week to arrive. Looking forward to watching this in 3D (have not seen it).

Mine is the same, 4/9, Colorado. Doesn't that seem rather long? I assumed about a week as well, which would be about on par with movies I've ordered from the UK before.

Mine also says 4/9. Just a hunch, but I get the feeling they are setting this near the longest expected time frame but that it could be sooner than that for many folks. Interesting that there is no tracking info available, and I would guess that's the case for other people too. A few years ago I bought something from them and it game in no more than a week.

That time frame is pretty close to shipping times I've experienced from them in the past few months.

About a week and a half is pretty typical for my Amazon UK orders. I'm in California.

PETER JACKSON: The theatrical versions are the definitive versions.

Bah... so I'll have Frozen, The Hobbit DoS, and Oz coming in all at the same time next week.

Are there any reviews for Frozen 3D yet?

Did anyone receive a shipping estimate from Amazon UK that was not April 9th? Curious whether that is just a blanket date sent to everyone.

Since I'm sure most people on here are concerned about Disney's apparently lack of 3d support... not sure if you all know this, but they are working on a 3d version of The Incredibles, so perhaps things aren't as dreary as they seemed smile.gif

I had Bridget Jones' Diary, The Island, Love Actually, Notting Hill and When Harry Met Sally… on import BD years before their domestic US BD releases. biggrin.gif

Just occurred to me that I got the Aladdin BD from overseas and it doesn't even have a release date here in the U.S. What's Disney's deal with this whole "not releasing it in the U.S." thing?

Disney has decided they will only be releasing 2 official brands going forward, Marvel and Star Wars, all other products are in the Disney vault FOREVER!!!!!
