I just watched it for the second time yesterday after seeing it in theaters a few months ago. Universal is releasing the film in the U.S, E1 in Canada. I suppose both use the same transfer though, Extras are the same as well. The audio is at times brutal cool.gif but never at the expense of dialogue clarity. The image is superb also. In short an impressive release for one of last year's best films. You don't have to be an F1 fan to enjoy it, as it's much more than "a film about racing". The focus is on the characters, which makes the whole thing even more thrilling and engaging. Chris Hemsworth and Daniel Brühl are outstanding.

(I thought a thread was already here but couldn't find it, even with the *cough* advanced search tool... wink.gif)

...canada's artwork:

...No need to mention I'll be doing a custom cover to make up for the artistic front image of the canadian release. tongue.gif

I bought it yesterday. Awesome film. I also picked this up.

It contains some of the actual footage that was recreated for Rush.

I also enjoyed this one. A film about the life of James Hunt would be interesting even if he didn't race. He was a wild guy and lived life to the fullest in his day. The racing scenes were well done, and you don't have to have any interest in racing to enjoy this film. Ron Howard did a great job.

The BD for this movie was released Tuesday.

Basically, it's the history of F1 with a strong emphasis on the 60s and 70s.
A good double feature with Rush.

Stellar film by Howard, but i think i had to high expectations. Holds the documentary 'Senna' higher. The blu-ray looks and sounds great, some nice photography by Anthony Dod Mantle.

I've posted some screencaps on my website for those interested...

Please tell me you're just kidding....eek.gif
This is one of the best movies of the year...easily.

Having seen it at my local cineplex, I can say this BD is true to the original presentation.

Make that a triple feature along with Hunt Vs. Lauda. biggrin.gif

...and yes it is a fine movie. No need to be into F1 or into cars to enjoy this movie.

Exactly right.

F1 is only a backdrop for a fascinating drama about 2 very different and competitive guys who are trying to reach the same goal but doing so in their own and unique ways.

I was really disappointed this movie didn't receive a BP nomination.

Both those guys did outstanding jobs, particularly Bruhl.
A damn shame....

I wonder if Opie, I mean Ron Howard, got the inspiration from his old mechanic friend Goober?

Guess I did too. I'm old enough to remember Grand Prix from the '60's and for me this just didn't measure up to that standard. To be fair this was enjoyable and the wrecks were devastatingly real looking, but where was the racing footage?? Seriously, was there 5 minutes of it in the entire movie?

Sadly I don't believe there will ever be another great racing film that won't depend on CGI. What a shame.

Great looking disc and movie. Very well done. But, sadly, I don't think I will ever get used to teal and orange.
