It's rarely used except for a few releases. My first use of BD-Live was with The Dark Knight, which was pretty innovative but very laggy. I was on DSL downloading commentaries for like forever and downloading trailers in HD...then on FiOS the speed was ok. Lionsgate used it to for updating weather temps when starting up a bluray. Sony used it for ps3 users downloading demos and such. Could this mean that 4k BDlive might be dead?

Not me... I never use it! In fact, I always keep my internet connection disabled and disconnected except for when I want to upgrade some firmware, or need it for other purposes.

It's dead for anything but trailers at this point.

Another one of those gimmicks that they used to sell the product then dump as soon as sales reach a decent level. Remember when DVD first appeared and they pushed that whole multi angle thing where you could push the button and see the scene from multiple angles. That never was hardly ever utilized except in a few occasions. Usually in the extras.

BD-Live was enabled for a short period last year on BDP. However, it became annoying after awhile, so I simply disabled it. Much better now.

I've always left the feature disabled at the player level. Special features are rarely worth it and the performance is terrible.

I didn't realize anyone EVER used to begin with.....biggrin.gif

Lets hope so. Have always had BD Live disabled in the player. Forced trailers and locked out Menu button has to be one of the most annoying things one has to deal with. I could deal with any disc if it went straight to the Main Menu and you could select the desired next step.

Same here. One simple thing on my ps3 is to press stop and then press play and the movie begins.

I have never used it. It is amazing how it was touted as the greatest thing since sliced bread back during the format war. Now, who cares!

That is a cool feature.
