If HD is going to win....they better have a player that is not made by Toshiba.....but rather a company thats known for at least a decent player.
They better have a player at launch that does 1080p....instead of just saying...its in the spec.
They better have a player at launch that has 8 analog outs.....instead of saying its in the spec.
They better have a player that can upscale sd dvd to 1080p.
They had better grow some GB for those long classic movies with 7.1 channels of lossless audio.
They better had come up with a way to make up for not having support from any decent hardware manufacture.
They better find a way....and this is huge for any buyer... to convince buyers they do not need movies From MGM,Columbia Tri Star, Lions Gate,Disney, Fox,Sony Pictures, and Pixar.

Sorry...but it is HD that is so far behind that its ridiculous at this point.

HD needs a name brand besides Toshiba....which has made no decent , let alone great player in many years.
It needs to have ammo against B/R's ability to upscale sd dvd to 1080p.
It needs an actual player that can do 1080p.
It needs an actual player that has 8 analog outs....and not just 2 for 7.1 lossless audio.
It needs to convince (Lie ;) ) that it has enough gb to have long movies with 7.1 channels of lossless audio on one disc.

But most importantly it needs to convince buyers that they don't need movies from MGM, , Sony,Columbia Tri Star,Lions Gate,Disney,Fox and Pixar.......good luck with this one;)

Underworld: Evolution will be released the same day as the DVD, but no word on Underworld.

Disney/Pixar/Buena Vista haven't announced any titles yet. That might be due to the impending purchase of Pixar or might not. We'll see. I'd love the Pixar collection on BD.

Starwars
Lucas will "want to do something really special" to get more money out of us. And I'm not buying them on BD or HDDVD no matter what. The first trilogy was perfect before he forgot that the story is more important than the visuals, and the second trilogy was mostly wooden and tedious. I'm glad I have the Laserdiscs, which makes me wonder how sincere he is when he says the original movie print was destroyed. The LDs sure looked fine to me and were released in 1995. Then we get the Special Edition re-release in 1997 and the print is mysteriously too damaged?

Sorry, got off on a rant there.

If you're stating an opinion, don't use declarative statements (for instance "it's a no go" as opposed to "it might be a no go"). Also, you might not want to tell other people they're biased in "your" forum and then go to "their" forum and do exactly what you accuse others of. You're even starting threads just to stir stuff up.
