I like to have a movie library simple at that.

Some people never will understand that and that's ok. There's nothing wrong with renting (though I do often get discs that look like they have been hit by a truck). I love Netflix and with the 3 at a time plan and the fast turn around in my area I can watch something different nearly everynight if I want to. Clearly I understand the utility of that.

I know people that do Radio Control model airplanes and enjoy it,.. it's nothing I'm interested in but whatever they like to do should be ok.

I only buy movies that I know I will watch again and again. I never buy a movie just because it looks and sounds good on my home theater. That's why my library is smaller than most people's.

There are only a handful of movies that continue to hold my interest after repeated viewings. Those are the only ones that I buy. Everything else gets rented from Netflix.

I agree with the OP.

A while back I was bored and wanted to watch a movie. So I scanned through my DVD collection (100 or so). I couldn't find one movie I wanted to watch!! That sealed the deal for me that I wouldn't buy an Blu-ray discs.

If I really want to watch a movie again, I'll just put it on my NetFlix queue. Buying Blu-ray for kids movies is silly because I only have one player in the house.
