the TV is a Samsung HLS5687w

I was actually watching this movie using my gaming settings which has the color bumped up to 55 because I didn't like it using my movie settings(color at 35)

Damn Viper...the PQ looks stunning on your set! I watched a bit of FF on my 720p and it looked great, but I can see the additional detail 1080p brings out.

Viper98, anyway you could post your Sammy settings? I searched for them and wasn't able to find them, sorry if you have already posted them before.

Thanks in advance!

for those latest shots(being the FF pics)

Contrast: 90
Brightness: 50
Sharpness: 0
Color: 55
Warm2 ton
50/50 tint

however the setting I usually use for movies is

Contrast: 80
Brightness: 55
Sharpness: 40
Color: 35
Warm 2 tone
50/50 tint

you can see a little ways back with the pics I took of Fifth Element

of course you can't truely see what it looks like through pics but you get the idea

speaking of fifth element I should get around to watching the remaster that sony sent me

You have a very sharp picture. I didn't get the gist on your size.

What is it if you don't mind me asking?

They are the remaster.

I've noticed consistently throught this thread that the screenshots of the smaller TV's like yours look really sharp. My picture actually looks much sharper in person as my camera just isn't picking up the detail that I wish it could.

You can definitely see the difference by looking at the comparison.

Oh no, I didn't sell my G90's. You would have to pry them out of my cold dead hands!

The one I sold was a favor for a friend and not part of my system.

Thanks for the kind words.

ya know, I've always been of the mindset that while the new Pirates Blu-Ray films look very nice, their picture quality is definitely overated imo.

those direct-grab shots (I believe that's what those are above this post) show that it's not as sharp as folks hyped it to be (I have the movies too, and they look just like those pics do, 'cept at 100").

Maybe the smaller sets keep things sharper?

Same here. I never understood why the PQ of DMC gets so high marks because even though its good, I don't think that its absolute best that Blu-ray has to offer...

Btw, the in the first pic...there is some nice detail of Keira Knightley
