Oh no, Giger has gone commercial and is posting screens from the same kind of mainstream garbage that I usually watch!

Thanks for the caps. I have very fond memories of watching South Park in the cineplex with the on-screen action with the kids sneaking into the "Terrance and Phlilip: Asses of Fire" scenes and outraged reactions at the beginning of the movie seemingly being re-enacted before my eyes by my fellow audience members like some kind of crazy impromptu and recursive art-imitates-life-imitates-art-etc. street theater.

Trying to dispel of the "Giger only watches artsy garbage" myth. Plus, it's a slow time for non-mainstream titles.

Sounds like a fun time at the movies with South Park... then again, you folks who live in 'Harry Knowles-country' seem to have some terrific cinemas - and crowds of people who actually enjoy films.

Ah yes, I remember the South Park movie, it got a 7 certification here in Sweden. I'm not sure the raters watched more than the poster.

Come to think of it I guess I *do* live in Harry Knowles-country, seeing as how I've seen him about town a couple of times. It's not L.A. or New York, but I suppose Austin is not the worst place to be for a film-lover in Americaland.

Now you made me look at the Swedish film certification system. Kind of surprising how much "Barn-förb-juden" actually seems to mean something in English when you try to say it slurringly out loud. Thank you Middle Age barbarian conquerors for such linguistic blessings!

Cursing and nudity isn't consider an offence here. Only violence. That said, when me and my pals saw it in the theater there was this mom there with her two kids about the age of ten. That was funny

I see Universal faithfully ported over the DNR from the HD-DVD release.

I don't have the HD DVD to compare to, but yeah, it seems so to me as well.

A TALE OF TWO SISTERS is one of my top five favourite horror movies ever. And while I'm no expert on AV stuff those screenshots look far more like upscaled DVD shots. Especially when compared to something like SYMPATHY FOR LADY VENGEANCE, which looks great.

Does the Blu-Ray of A TALE OF TWO SISTERS really look that underwhelming?

Cinema, would you mind doing caps for the Spider-Man trilogy? To put it lightly, I'm not a fan of the last movie, but I hear it has a knock out transfer. Spider-Man 2 was also the first major motion picture to have a full 4K DI, if I remember correctly.

Sure thing - I recently picked up the UK version of these, but they are essentially the same as the US discs. I'm not going to promise a timeline on doing these, but you may consider them "in queue" so hopefully I can get to them shortly.

30 screen captures from Big Fish (2003) [Sony - US Region ABC]

NOTE: The Brothers Bloom caps are from the rental edition that is available now from Netflix/Blockbuster/etc. I'd be surprised if the January retail release were any different, but you never know.
