Ok guys here it is:

Just went to a Mississauga, Ontario Bestbuy to pick up T2 and Crank. Well T2 is not the one advertised on the website, it looks like we got the "American release" as it is the same cover art and not the skeleton one.

Besides that, they had not received Crank yet. This brings me to another question.

Any Canadians out there have a good place they pick up BD's from? I still have not seen The Descent in any big box store, nor any Walmart around my area. Add this to not getting Crank on release it's getting frustrating that. Is my only option ordering from amazon com?

I got my Descent disk this morning from amazon.com. The disks that are planned buys should come from amazon.com as they are cheaper.

The impulse buys can be done when you drop by the B&M. Walmarts in my area have some titles, not complete, but I've picked up quite a few.

Is there really a difference between this T2 release and the previous one? If so, how can we verify this?

I haven't seen much in the way of Lionsgate BD's up here in Canada. Quite annoying!

Dual Supporter as of January 4, 2007!
Feels so nice...

Yep, I grabbed T2 at Futureshop tonight, and its the same cover as the US release. Not a bad price though at $19.95CAD (about $17US)
I also picked up Stargate and Total recall for the same price. I haven't watched them yet, but even though the reviews aren't stellar, they MUST be better than the DVD versions, right?

I A/B'd the Blu-ray T2 against the "Extreme" SD DVD (PS3 vs Denon 2930CI). The BD was better, but just doesn't blow you away. But, it is an improvement.

You're right David. I just watched the first few minutes and it is a noticiable improvement. Looks more filmlike than the Extreme DVD. Those THX test patterns are nice to have as well!

I forgot about those patterns! I'll have to try them out - just got my PS3 tonight.

Does your copy of Terminator 2 (CAN) have uncompressed audio as an option?

I find that Canada get a lot of its blu-ray and HD-DVD a little later then the US does.

Just now I am starting to see Christmas vacation come into wal-marts and futureshops. when it came out back in december in the us.

Actually Christmas vacation was one of the few titles that my Walmart put out a week before it's release date back when it came out. I still haven't seen The Decent anywhere though so I know what you're talking about.

I got into that Amazon.com deal (and yes, they ship to Canada) for the 10% off on 3 or more disks in 2006, then a 10% off coupon for all of 2007. As you may suspect, amazon.com has a great selection, but i've had problems recently with them being 'out of stock', so some stuff isn't shipping for a week or two now. They've had marginally better pricing, even with the conversion rate + shipping than others here in Canada (Futureshop, Bestbuy, amazon.ca, etc.), but due to recent fluctuation in the C$, it's not quite as attractive as it was several weeks ago. Have seen them at EBGames, but haven't checked Walmart.
