I guess this is up for all of you to decide but i snooped a look in the ad for tomorrow and the deal is

Save $10 on two BD or HD DVD titles

or

Save $20 on three BD or HD DVD titles

i think it says all must be on same receipt. I am too tired to think if this is a good deal or not but leave your comments so i can decide if i will do it.

Thanks and Enjoy!

I don't know, $20 off mixed with instant gratification and no shipping cost doesn't sound that bad. I often pick up HD DVDs and Blu-Ray discs in stores even though I get a much better deal off DVDempire.com

If you buy 2 discs, there's no shipping cost on amazon either.

Ah, yeah. Same thing with 3 discs on DVDempire.com

Either way, instant gratification is there if you want to buy them at Best Buy and watch your movies the same day.

Uh, no. If most BRs at Best Buy are $24.99 (and they are, if not more) its like Buy 2 get 1 for close to free.

Most Blu-ray discs at Bad Buy cost $29.99 - not 24.99. $20 off when you buy three isn't really any cheaper than Amazon, and you have to pay tax.

^^^ not true, i saw the list of stores Best Buy will automatically price match. and Frys is one of them.

I brought in a Target online ad in yesterday (which are Amazon prices) and she took it without even looking. It was great.

I will never pay Best Buy prices again.

Just made 2 separate order for 6 discs - the deals seems to have gone live at 10:00PM PST and I've been holding off on buying movies lately to take advantage of it (saw a copy of the upcoming ad about a week ago). Deal doesnt seem to have applied (although it says it will automatically - possibly because its not midnight yet?)

Prices werent too bad - between $16.99 and $22.99 per disc (before savings) with one $29.99 disc.

I just made a purchase for 4 discs on Amazon recently (first time) and did not receive the 10% discount, so that offer is no good to me (and likely anybody else who has not ordered 3 BD's previously).

The BB special is cross-platform so you can buy either HDDVD or Blu-Ray in any combination to take advantage of the sale. Being in-store is also great for those who are impatient (like me!)

I didn't know I could do both HD and BR....May be worth it for the 1 or 2 BR titles I have interest in.

Are you saying you are going to go to Best Buy or Fry's? If you are going to BB and are planning to price match somewhere else and get this deal, keep dreaming. There's no way BB will price match somewhere else and give you the $10 or $20 off of that. It's an either/ or thing.

so i have never tried to do the whole price match deal at bestbuy before. if you bring in a printed add from target.com they will price match? if this is true this makes this deal very tempting. amazon prices at an additional $20 off would be nice. also has anyone had any luck with the price match strategy at bb in the south jersey area? thanks for the help

No, they won't price match. Besides, there aren't any BR or HD-DVD movies in the Target ad to price match them to. Also, BB doesn't pm online prices.

i must post an adverse finding to this post. i have brought in just the printed page of a BD from target.com MANY times (at least 5-7) and have successfully had Best Buy match the price instantaneously. i am not talking about a page from the Target ad, but merely a printout of the search results for, let's say "The Prestige" on bluray at $23.99. they have not once called the store to ask if they had it in stock, and just go ahead and give me the price that is off of the target website. i have done this on every bluray movie that i have bought over the past couple of months, and it has gone like this every time. it could vary from store to store, but i have been lucky with the 2 best buys that i go to and their lenient customer service employees.

either way, it's worth a shot. what's the worst that can happen? they will deny you the price match, and you will get the movie from somewhere else. easy cheesy.

I just picked out three movies on Best Buy (all $24.95) and with tax (and in-store pickup), the total came to $58.26. The same movies on Amazon came up to $63.85. Not a huge savings, but I'll save a little over $5.00 and can have them today, plus get Reward Zone points. I also have $30 in Best Buy gift certificates to put towards the movies too..

Some preorders worked - I placed a 3rd order with just these.

Unfortunately, 007 and the Pirates movies were not part of the promotion

BD movies are not showing up on BB's website. I was going to check prices and see if this is a good deal or if Amazon is better.

The links under BD Movies has been coming up blank for some time now (at least for me). This link goes to them through an alternate page and should work though:

i just meant in general, someone said all movies are $29.99 and i said that i will never pay that ever again because of their nice price match.

Circuit City has to be the worst in my opinion. You have to have a sales ad, and the item must be in stock at that store. Basically so the only reason you do it at circuit city is because you prefer that store, and i doubt nobody will ever have that reason lol.

Collven, once again you are telling people wrongly. Have you ever tried it?

Along with the other guy, Best Buy instantly takes a PRINTOUT of a target online printout.

Its great

Circuit City to me has actually been the easiest to price match. I just pull up the store's Web site (it does have to have a brick and mortar counterpart within 25 miles or something) and they match. Plus Circuit City does 110% difference so you get that extra 10%, as well. I'm sure I didn't explain the math correct on that, but whatever.

Blu-ray = 775

I just did a quick 3 disc comparison BB vs Amazon. They didn't have all 3 disc at my local BB so I chose to have them shipped instead (cheapest rate).

The Amazon order with the free ship, no tax was $10 cheaper that the BB order once you added tax and shipping.

Have never tried the price match thing though.

Woh they have the Discovery Atlas titles in the promotion too. You can get three of them out the door (incl. tax) for about $17 each.
