Yes, it's a definite audio improvement if you're a connoisseur of such things.
For instance, this is an easy example to appreciate the difference in the discs, even if some cannot readily appreciate the increased clarity in the vocals or musical instruments..
I've listened to the DVD and the Blu-ray disc (with the PCM 5.1 soundtrack enabled) on the same sound system.
Remember the song sung by The Band and The Staples Singers..The Weight.
It was actually not recorded in San Fran during the concert but at MGM in Culver City.
At the end of the song, one of the Staples Singers says beautiful.
With the SD it sounds muffled and difficult to hear.
On the Blu-ray version with PCM enabled, it is crystal clear.
You can extrapolate that example to the sound for the remainder of the Blu-ray disc.
The P/Q is also an upgrade but, still very grainy as this is a source issue.
