David Gilmour: Remember That Night

If you're into the mighty Floyd, you can't beat the "Echoes" performance.
It's reference quality and primo demo material!

The Police: Certifiable........without a doubt, one of, if not the best sounding concert I have heard. It also looks stunning and just a great show all around.

I have around 70 concerts on BD, HD DVD and DVD.

Excellent - Love Pink Floyd... just never gave in to Gilmour's solo stuff. I will check it out!

Thank you!

+100!

Seriously, from a A/V standpoint this Police show is probably in a class by itself. It sounds that good (also the best looking concert BR to date IMO from all that I have seen). Fantastic performance as well. This is one of the all to rare concerts that will WORK your subwoofer which is the way it should be.

I have TSRTS on regular dvd for years and know the movie inside out...I was able to get the blu-ray version of this before it got pulled from the shelves...well it is light years better than the dvd version, it was originally shot on 35mm film so the picture quality is awesome for a film this old, I saw little nuances that are not visible on the dvd version, for instance one close up of john paul jones keyboards during I think STH the pic quality is so clear you can actually see the volume knobs with the numbers 1 thru 10 written on the knobs, also the sound is so much more powerful than the older dvd version

I picked up Earth, Wind & Fire with Chicago and Roy Orbison Black & White Night at costco for $15 each, PQ is excellent, cant really comment on the audio cuz my theater is apart while my new house is being built. There are lots of DVDs that I would double dip if they released BDs:
Billy Idol Storytellers
Journey 2001
Metallica Cunning Stunts
Scorpions - Moment Of Glory

Also see the latest ZZ Top concert is out on BR, havent seen it yet but might be good.

The Oasis doco Lord Don't Slow Me Down' has been released on BD. In addition to the tour documentary, it also features their concert in Manchester (which was shot in HD). Looks and sounds absolutely fantastic.

They have been quite hard to find (distribution delays I think) but I have seen a few copies on ebay from time to time.

Definitely worth a look if you like Oasis.

I agree... the PQ isn't the greates, however, with the lasers and strobe lights that does make the whole experience "out of the ordinary". Fantastic effects!

I do not understand as to why the Live in Gndask was not released on BR, but they managed to releas 2 different SD DVD options....doesn't make sense why he would not release it on Blu

Amazon shows this BD as having been discontinued by the manufacturer. What's up with that?

For those of you that have both the Police & the Elton 60 BD, is the picture quality comparable? Elton 60 is currently my reference BD (not just concert BD) when I want to show off my system.

My suggestion is to stay away from the McCartney BD, what a total disappointment.

I also have the Elton 60, excellent PQ and AQ. The police Certifiable disc is one that I have been waiting on. Why would Best Buy not have that playing in their hi def area of the showroom when they are the exclusive retailer to carry the disc? I don't want to spen $29.99 and be disappointed!

The other 2 Blu concert disc's I have that have awesome PQ and AQ are Justin Timberlake live at Madison Square Garden and Celine Dion in Vegas.

Rush is also very good, but doesn't give me the "wow" factor while watching

Believe me, you will NOT be dissapointed! I am very picky with concerts especially in the AQ department and this one is damn near perfect, it also looks amazing with great colours and tons of pop, this one is sure to WOW your guests.

I dont know how the Police compares to Elton 60, but I will say out of all the BR concerts I have watched (most) it is easily the best looking and at the very least tied for the best sounding (may even be the best for sound, but tied for best at the least). I got the disc for VERY cheap, but this is one disc I would have gladly paid full price for as this one is worth every cent. Quite a few of these BR concerts are not worth owning from a A/V perspective which is why I usualy rent. Renting was not an option for the Police show so you have to take a chance and buy it from BB, but I say buy without hesitation! This is one of the few shows that makes appropriate use of the subwoofer which I crave.

Not everyone's cup of tea, but I recommend Within Temptation: Black Symphony. By far one of the best blu-ray concerts imo. I own over 100 concert/music dvd and blu-ray's and am a huge music buff. This is an import but is a region free blu-ray. Here is a link to the trailer if anyone is interested. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i1PUoz0cS20

Bears... Beets... Battlestar Galactica.

Just a warning on that Oasis one, its 1080i and apparently wont play on NTSC TV's even though it is region free.

The sound is amazing on it though.

I would seriously kill for MUSE to release H.A.A.R.P. on blu-ray. The DVD version has a great mix but the video has macroblocking galore.

Same as the Keane Blu Ray. I can't find a customer service number for Universal Music anywhere. I've sent emails to every support address I can find and have not gotten one reply.
