Check your local Best Buys. Mine here on Long Island already had it on the shelf. Didn't buy it though, way too expensive.

Yes, that's BB's price. I'm waiting for it to come out Tuesday then get it from Deepdiscount.com as part of their 20% off sale/ It's not applying to preorders right now so i'll wait. Final price will be $26.28.
I believe the sale is until the 25th. Use code DD1109

Anyone post screencaps yet? I can't seem to find any. I'd love a 1920x1200 wallpaper of the mothership coming up behind Devil's Tower.

Does the bluray come in a normal regular blue keep case or is it folded in cardboard like the HDDVD version of Heroes?

Cardboard/plastic. Opens to two plastic disc trays with an insert on the left side (poster). There is a cardboard box housing the disc unit mentioned and a heavy stockpaper booklet.

I just went to buy this title, but out of principle, I just can't spend this kind of money on a single movie...

Looking at the Amazon ratings, it looks like many others feel the same way I do since this title should be flying of the shelves.

How much money do your principles allow you to waste on aborted shopping trips?

It's all about what you're into. This is the most I've spent on a Blu-ray. For me it's worth every damn penny. This set is top-notch all the way.

And I'll enjoying two other movies for the same price. Or I might wait a couple weeks and catch it for a fraction of the price. Paying $35 for a single title only suports this crazy pricing.

^^^^^^^^^^

There is a post about Walmart having an exclusive for the BD and the OP got it for around $25. I'd say that is pretty darn good and I'm considering it.

Why pay: $49.95?
Our Price: $32.85

You Save: $17.10

How are you getting $26 ?

--- NEVERMIND : Use code : USATODAY
Unfortunately - they are currently out of stock

While I still find it to be grossly overpriced, the deep discount deal sold me. $26 isn't too terrible, though I haven't paid more than $20 for any one Blu-ray title, and most no more than $15.

I just love this movie far too much. Hopefully my copy will be here Thanksgiving weekend, when I'll have something like 14 new movies coming in all at once.

I think even at $34 its a great price you get 3 versions of the film and that's cool.
Hopefully this will sell well so mr.Speilberg will allow his other movies out on either format.

no. no. no. I don't want The Terminal in HD at all.

Ridiculous codec tier sig gone. Still AVC/24bit lossless fanboy.

Studio quality tier
Most Major studios>Small Studios>dogs>cats>Warner(the guys that do new movies)

I picked this up from BB today for 34.99 minus 10%. The clerk allowed me to use a 10% off coupon despite the fact that it says it can't be used on new releases. Will be watching the director's cut tonight.

Just watched the Director's cut. Pretty good picture and sound. Weird thing is I couldn't get any volume from either SPIDF (coax/optical) output. Had to utilize the Analog outs. Wonder why?

Just brought this home. Watched the original '77 cut that I haven't seen since I was a kid. Overall, I'd say the picture is a mixed bag. Some scenes pop off the screen with unbelievable detail and color and some scenes look pretty grainy and average (Jillian running outside when Barry is abducted). I listened to the Dolby Digital track (448kbps) and the DTS core track (1.5mpbs) as I don't have an HDMI compatible receiver. Both sounded very good.

The scene with Jillian running after Barry was an optical effect with several elements, meaning several pieces of film printed together. No way to make that less grainy without heavy DVNR.
