Interesting, Given there are 4 movies now. I guess that one will have to lay on it's own

This isn't what I wanted to hear, as I really only want the first Die Hard, but it isn't unexpected.

Weird, the DVD is a quad set, and its only 27.99 at Amazon. Is that crazy cheap or what?

I hope they do a serious remastering job as the previous D-Theater release of the 1st film looks like crap.

that sounds more like what fox'd charge for just the 4th one on dvd. didnt they already release a trilogy (when there's already a 5star collection trilogy) when dh4 hit theaters? now they doin another box set?

Taking their cues from WB, what a waste as I also only want the first.

Good strategy. you do know they mainly want the newer one to be a huge seller. just like sony's spider-man.

good, I don't have to buy and be tempted to watch a POS PG13 Die Hard wannabe, John McClane doesn't belong in a PC PG13 flick and I refuse to watch it

Isn't Die Hard 4 being released unrated on Blu-ray?

Fox's press release says nothing about "unrated;" HOWEVER, www.foxbd.com has a small cover art image on the homepage with bold "unrated" text on it.

fox really isn't helping blu-ray with these prices of their catalog titles. getting something in HD is worth paying more, but not this much more.

the difference in msrp for the trilogy on SD and HD is $60 (SD = $40, HD = $100)...that's just ridiculous. i hope these people don't seriously wonder why these formats are taking so long to catch on.

$27.95 for Live Free, Die Hard, Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer or Master and Commander vs. $27.95 for Paramount's "Blades of Glory" or Universal's "Knocked Up. I don't think the criticism is fair. The fact that a film had a recent theatrical run is not justification for the same high pricing. If you don't want the title wait for a sale. Personally, I would rather pick up some of those Fox titles for $27.95 rather than some of the clunkers I got for $10, $15 to $20 bucks!

Agreed. I'm not buying a box set to get the one movie that I want.

The fact that every single other studio has a separate pricing structure for catalog titles is all the justification that you should need ... Fox is being greedy as usual. And at least with Universal titles you get a bonus, whether you plan on using it or not.

I'm mostly interested in 1 and 4. Will probably get 4; (if released separate as indicated), then wait to see if they release 1 alone in the future. If not I'll probably bite the bullet and get the whole set.

Agreed. I guess sales figures for LFODH would suffer if it were included in a box.

Regardless, I'm still eager to buy all four movies!

If you don't like the prices then don't by the movies! Simple as that. You can always get it cheaper off of amazon market place a week after release.

Count me in for the box set to replace my DVD box set. Both boxes (SD and BD)combined are cheaper than what I paid for the trilogy on Laerdisc so I dunno what all the whining is about. :-P

Thank you Fox! Love you more than Paramount.

PS: Please bring us our Blu-Ray exclusive version of the Star Wars saga soon.

there will be an unrated version. on blu-ray too i believe. Bruce Willis stated it in an interview that specific scenes were filmed only for the dvd release.

really? BoG and Knocked Up are $27.95?

in that case i still think criticism against fox is justified, just the same criticsm can now apply to Paramount and Universal as well. guess i didnt know since i dont have hd-dvd so never looked at the prices of either title.
