My player goes directly into my Samsung LCD, no receiver. After reading the 300 thread, I am not alone with the player issue. As I surmised in my initial post there were two things going on, player and disc. The player issues I'll follow up on in the 300 forum but the bad disc belongs in this forum.
Well, I didn't think it was perfect but was hoping it was better!
How do you spell, au contrere?
Silly me, I thought that the initial HD-DVD player issues were fixed with firmware upgrades.
Owning only Bluray's I guess I had my blinders on from not really caring what went on "over there". I don't have a side two switch, by the way!
I held off on any decision until Blockbuster announced and I found out about Target. At that point I bought the player and ordered a dozen or so discs. I thought the war was over.
Then I heard about the Paramount fiasco and immediately went to Amazon to order all of the Paramount Bluray's just for spite. (That'll teach 'em!
I have to admit that finding one bad disc out of 33 really spooked me.
I had heard that Sony had some initial disc problems but it was quickly straightened out. Finding this one left me thinking that they may not have. Nothing sinister, just bad previous experiences.
I have changed the thread title to make it more clear that this should only be for disc problems, not player related. Hopefully that will cut down on the confusion. Again, if I am the only one who's had this problem, I'd be more than pleased.
