Definitely not on pre-orders.

I think it works with things that are out of stock...except when they pull a fast one and say "it's due to be released" on the date they expect it back in stock.

I know I've ordered many items at 20% off that were backordered.

Did Amazon remove POTC from the BOGO list? I could have sworn I saw them when I was looking yesterday picking out my movies. Am I missing something!?

It's still there and you're probably looking at the SONY BOGO List.

When I was at BBY yesterday, they were holding that offer.

For anyone in the Kansas city or omaha areas Nebraska Furniture Mart is running the BOGO special on Blu Ray. I am an HD-DVD guy but did see the special there. Just a heads up!

Love my DEF TECH!

Instead of having a "Special Buys, Discounts and BOGO MASTER THREAD" stickied in the HD DVD and Blu-ray software forums, which can often gets jumbled into one messy thread which relatively few seem to like, should AVS create new individual "HD DVD Software and Hardware Deals" and "Blu-ray Software and Hardware Deals" forums where posters can openly submit and discuss special buys, discounts or any other deals we come across and would like to share? I think it would be a great idea instead of the stickied threads in both the HD DVD and Blu-ray forums. What say ye? Please vote here: http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=939181

Please feel free to visit MidnightWatcher's Blogspot or follow my NEWS feed on Twitter.

Do not forget the 20% off deal at DeepDiscount.com good through 11/17 (you must apply the coupon code at the check-out and there are three of those discount codes floating around in this thread's past 2-3 pages, but I used DD1109). This does not apply to pre-orders.

I used it for the following:

1- Spider Man 1, 2 & 3 set
2- Planet Earth (UK edition)
3- Close Encounters of the Third Kind

Edit: #1 & #2 were in-stock, but #3 after 11/24, no biggie to me!.

Order Summary
Item Total: $164.54
Shipping & Handling: 0.00
Discount: -32.91
Tax: 0.00
Order Total: $131.63

One word of caution: Do not sign up for their $10 off your next purchase offer, as it will direct you to a company called: Shopper Discounts & Rewards, as these people will charge your CC, $10 per month for their BS.

Good luck...

For anyone who has ordered from JR:

I'm curious how good their service is. I ordered on Sunday early morning, and my order status still says "processing". I would have cancelled and ordered from Amazon, but Amazon doesn't have Underworld (the first one) on the list. I also ordered flatliners.

Has anyone (who ordered when the sale went up) received their movies or tracking number?

God no!!!!

I'm there Friday Morning. FOX is the only one I'm holding out on. Seems like we've had a Sony/Disney blowout (several times) as of recent. Time to load up on some Fox. Thanks (or should I say "Damn you!") for this offer!

Nice...thanks!!! I've been wanting to get these, but they are still at MSRP (or very close to) in most places. I just got them online:

The Day After Tomorrow [Blu-Ray] 1 Same Day $13.99
Kingdom of Heaven [Blu-Ray] 1 Same Day $13.99
Ice Age: The Meltdown [Blu-Ray] 1 Same Day $13.99

subtotal $41.97 plus $6 for shipping

By the way, I did try some other Fox titles and I got the regular price (Courage Under Fire and Planet of the Apes).

Edit: Here is the complete list of Fox movies I found for $13.99 at Frys.com:

28 Days Later
28 Weeks Later
Alien vs Predator
Day After Tomorrow, The
Eragon
Fantastic Four
*Fly, The
*From Hell
*Hills Have Eyes 2, The
Ice Age: The Meltdown
Kingdom of Heaven
*Mr. Brooks
Night at the Museum
Transporter, The
Transporter 2, The
X-Men 3: The Last Stand

Non-Fox titles

*Terminator $9.99

Hopefully they will add more. Enjoy!

Can anyone confirm the fox BOGO for the Phoenix/Tempe area of AZ? I can never find an ad online that is from PHX. They never match the ads from texas or the mercury news frys ad in cali. The frys in tempe said each frys store puts out their own ads, besides the big ad on fridays. thx

Same exact problem here -- ordered Sunday from J&R, still says "processing". Maybe I'll cancel today since Amazon is about $5 cheaper.

Also The Hills Have Eyes 2 and Mr. Brooks.

It looks like 28 Weeks Later and The Hills Have Eyes 2 are backordered, which will hold up your shipment, or, if you have items ship separately, greatly increase the cost.

I picked up Alien vs. Predator and The Day After Tomorrow.

It looks like canceling J&R orders by email doesn't work. Here is what I got from them:

Thank you for your email. Your order has shipped out. Unfortunately, we did not see your request until it was too late. In the future we ask that if you need to communicate any time sensitive information to us, you do so by calling our Customer Service Department. You may return it for a refund (excluding shipping and handling charges) within 30 days.
You will need a return authorization number. All requests for return authorizations must be handled by our Customer Service Department?s phone reps at 800-426-6027 or 718-340-0397. Customer Service is open on weekdays from 9AM to 6PM and Saturdays from 9AM to 5PM ET.
Return authorizations are not available by email.

However my order still does not show as shipped.

Anyway, I guess if you want to cancel a J&R order then don't email them, call them.

Really? Strange. I know Gamestop has it for $89.99 but its listed (or it was listed) as $79.99 at Best Buy. Not sure of other places since I never looked.
