It seems that Paramount will soon be going Blu too. So maybe it could be possible that Universal will want to follow, though I don't know when or if in fact they will want to release movies on Blu-ray.

Supposing that they do sometime in the future, what titles would we be looking forward too?

Movies must be OAR, sports and movies must also have 5.1 audio, No EE or NO SALE!

Why not ask which Uni titles would you not like? Because I want the whole catalogue.

Except for Chuck and Larry.

Ridiculous codec tier sig gone. Still AVC/24bit lossless fanboy.

Studio quality tier
Most Major studios>Small Studios>dogs>cats>Warner(the guys that do new movies)

Because I don't really know what titles Universal have. And there's very few movie companies who's movies I am familiar with. For example, it's obvious to me what titles (and type of movies) Disney make.

Same holds true for directors, except maybe just a few. And when it comes to really wanting a movie that for one reason or another that does not make it to Blu-ray, (or might be released on Blu-ray) I become really familiar with the name of the studio...like the company that made Grindhouse for example.

Movies must be OAR, sports and movies must also have 5.1 audio, No EE or NO SALE!

Universal has a fantastic catalog & will be welcomed with open arms to the Blu camp. I would love to have Serenity or Riddick with a TrueHD soundtrack. The DD+ tracks kick ass...I can only imagine what lossless would be. Thats the only way I would double dip on Uni titles out on HD-DVD that may come to Blu-ray eventually.

Bascially everything except the botched catalog titles. Tremors, Spartacus, 40 Year Old Virgin, Traffic... If those are the first titles to come out then you'll know what kind of mood Universal is in.

I'd love a great transfer of Traffic actually - great, great film.

Would take Schindler's List, Jurassic Park and Serenity.

Every Uni title I own.

I'm selling off the ones I can live without for a little while, hoping for non-combo BD versions.

My DVD, Blu-Ray and HD DVD Collection @

Always one

Universal are unique in that they've already released a lot of their best stuff on HD DVD where as most studios are waiting for the user base to grow before unleashing their big guns. Sadly Universal seem to have put no effort into a lot of catalogue releases suggesting they don't really see a future in HD DVD, either that or they'll double dip with new masters. The titles I want (but not necessarily the current version) are:

Happy Gilmore
Billy Madison
Mallrats
The Game
The Thing
Tremors
Sneakers
The Bone collector
12 Monkeys
Heroes: Season 1
Inside man (maybe)

Off the top of my head I'd also want (on release) the following:
BTTF trilogy
Jurassic Park
Rear Window
Batteries not included

DRAGON: THE BRUCE LEE STORY (1993)

The current DVD version was released at the very dawn of DVD media, and while it isn't enhanced for 16:9, it still represents the benchmark for great home video, at least in terms of extras - it contains tons of fascinating stuff, all ported over from the laserdisc, and I'd like to see all of them replicated on Blu-ray, along with a remastered 1080/24p version of the film itself.

The day that disc comes to market, I'll be one of the first in the queue.

+1...I've always been a big fan of this movie. I also would love to see some of Brandons movies on blu-ray too...The Crow.
