Yep, Fright Night rules.

I have to wonder if the City of the Living Dead disc is not so much the grain but artifacts/noise, I mean that Anchor Bay disc looks pretty bad and I have heard the Blue-Underground version is the same exact transfer.

City of the Living Dead is my favorite Fulci film so a Blu release would be cool if they could clean it up.

And I would definitley take Let Sleeping Corpses Lie on Blu!!!

While we are at it, give me:

Tenebre, New York Ripper, Cemetery Man, and Dead Alive (uncut version) on Blu-ray with excellenet transfers and I would be very happy!

Blu-ray: 35
DVD: 493

A GOOD transfer of Bay of Blood with decent audio would be nice.

Well, if were talking Bava I'd gladly plunk down for BLACK SUNDAY, BLOOD & BLACK LACE, and BLACK SABBATH (with seamless between the Euro and US cut).

I told that the original NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD camera negs are getting an HD transfer, now I'm hoping that means a HDM version isn't too far off. NOTLD has been such a PD fixture on every format, that I think it would be bad luck to keep it off HD. MARTIN is actually 1.33:1 so I would fear Lionsgate doing the butchering they did on DVD if it were in their hands.

Ya, ZOMBIE is a great-looking film.

Actually, hows about NECROMANTIK? Let's see what HD can do for Super 8 "corpse fu*king art."

I want to buy Alien, Aliens and Gladiator as soon as possible.
I would pay $50 each, yes for a quality Blu-ray transfer.

In all honesty, we've been pretty spoiled when it comes to horror classics in HDM... American Werewolf, Army of Darkness and The Thing on HD DVD... Halloween, Evil Dead 2, Dawn and Day of the Dead on BD...

Even the good NEW horror movies like The Descent are available.

That being said, COME ON ANCHOR BAY!!! You just released a brand new version of Hellraiser, why no BD? You've got tons of "Divimax" prints kicking around, why not use them!

This one just got the Special Edition treatment from Blue Underground... "new stunning High Definition Master" blabla... so that one could definetly happen sometime

I'd also love some 80is Horror

Fright Night
Blob
Monster Squad
The Gate
Re-Animator
Return of the Living Dead I & II
Braindead

and many more..

Indeed! Halloween and The Thing are both fantastic trasnfers. American Werewolf in London could have been better. I'm waiting on a HD copy of Dawn of the Dead.

Would love to see Alien, Aliens, Hellraiser I & II, Rawhead Rex, Pet Cemetery, Serpant and the Rainbow, etc. etc.

BTW - How is the trasfer on The Descent? I have the SD-DVD and would be willing to double dip if it was worth it.

Really? I haven't seen it for myself, since I'm holding off for something that can compare to the 25th anniversary edition, but everyone says the Halloween transfer is horrible.

Anyone besides me want to see a Ginger Snaps boxset?

Maybe I'm just so used to seeing it on AMC that the BD really impressed me but I think it looks pretty good. IIRC it was or is in the Silver tier. The Thing is the most impressive transfer I've seen from an 80's flick yet.

The Thing, Feast, and Army of Darkness are some of the very few reasons I wish I had an HD-DVD player.

Wow! there's a lot of nice catalog titles you guys are requesting and hopefully in time they will all be here.

What I would really like is for all major American motion pictures to be released day to date. I understand not all new releases can be day and date release, but American movies from major production companies should. For example this movie called - Redition is coming out on DVD on 2/19, but not for Blu-Ray(New Line release). It has a good write up on Amazon, if you want to look it up.

I'm trying to move forward and leave SD behind, so I'm only buying HDM now. If we are to breakout of this "niche" market, we have to be day to date releases, just like SD. Maybe...this will be the sign, when all major produced movie come out on HDM day to date, we have finally gone MAINSTREAM!!!

I would LOVE to see Star Wars in an HD format, idealisticly HDDVD, but something tells me it'll be on BluRay.... Why? The capacity of the single disc... Lucas could do a special BluRay release of the movie with a few HD tweaks... AND on the same discs include Theatrical Release (YAY!), Special Edition, and DVD Release, and then the BluRay release..... Personally I think many a Star Wars fan would rush out and pick that puppy up.....

Check out my HTPC Here

After seeing the recent and continuing remastered DVDs from Shaw Bros. getting released every week, I gotta wonder whether we'll ever see these timeless gems on Blu-ray.

Can you imagine Master Killer or Eight Diagram Pole Fighter in full 1080p mastered glory with PCM 5.1 audio track???

I can't wait...

Although Celestial does a good job with the Shaw remasters, I'm not sure if blu-ray would offer that much improvement over the dvds, just because of the age of the prints. It might require an additional restoration step to get the full benefit of 1080p.
