For some reason, HBO hasn't been releasing anything for a while.

It's probably due to the Sopranos sets selling poorly, but color me shocked that half a season with an MSRP of $130 isn't flying off the shelves.

^gooood choice!
i just finished re-watching it on dvd...very enjoyable movie. notsure how much it would benifit visually from a high def transfer, but the audio is all electronic so the tracks by prodigy can be punched up substantially

I am hoping for these BD's soon:

Blade 1-3, especially Blade II my favorite.
Bourne 1-3 the first two were only DD+ on HD DVD
Bad Boys 1&2
Fast and Furious 1-3 All of them are DD+ on HD DVD

The Bourne and FF movies should be in DTS-HD MA since they are Universal. New Line for Blade should provide 7.1 DTS-HD MA. Columbia did the Bad Boys movie so expect DTHD.

The Insider would be nice on BD. Obviously, it is not an audio/visual blockbuster, but a fine film nonetheless. Absolutely one of my favorites that I would love to see get the blu ray treatment!

HD DVD: 25
Blu-ray: 234
SD DVD: 392

I too would love to see this movie make it to Blu. I watch it every year on October 30th (Devil's night) kind of an homage to the great late Brandon Lee.

Anybody know what the deal with Princess Bride is? I know it's MGM (which does not bode well) but it's been on netflix and Amazon forever for pre-order, and I just read the book, and hoping it would be coming out soon...

It was originally supposed to come out in February of 2007, I believe, but was cancelled. What's irritating is that Fox then proceeded to release yet another DVD edition later in the year.

I know, I saw the DVD (which had a cool cover, which was the 20th anniversary edition) and thought that would have been the perfect time to do so...

But knowing Fox, it would have just been another crappy mpeg-2 bd-25.

If they gonna release Lion king, I hope they release the orginal theatrical version instead of the terrible extended edition.

"Terrible." It's literally one extra song. Anyway, they included the theatrical version using seamless branching on the DVD so there's no reason why they wouldn't do it for the BD (although it was the IMAX and not original theatrical version, but again it's a question of only a couple of scenes that were slightly tweaked.)

Star Trek, any of the movies or series. Perhaps Paramount will continue its release of TOS that it started with HD DVD. I hope they release some Star Trek to coincide with the new movie. For one of Paramounts premier franchises, I am suprised they have not been rolling out the releases.

Yes, WALL-E on BluRay will hit November 4, 2008 and will be a big release effort for sure. Can't wait for this on BD. People in some forums are saying it's going to be their excuse to finally buy a BluRay player, so it'll be a "killer app" of sorts for wider adoption of BluRay players (those that haven't been compelled to yet). I have to agree - saw it in theater and loved it 10/10.

I pretty much just Netflix my BluRay stuff, but WALL-E I'm definitely going to own.
